Grim Fandango HD was released for sale on gog.com, but not the original version of Grim Fandango.

Metro: Last Light Redux was released for sale on gog.com, but not the original version of Metro: Last Light with all of it's DLC's.

Metro 2033 was released for sale on gog.com, but not the original version of Metro 2033.

Are there anymore video games like this missing originals? I don't have time to check all of my video games to make comparisons of them missing the originals.
Just one?

1) "its" and "principles".

2) Much as I'd like to see the originals myself, this never was one of gog's principles.

3) For Grim Fandango at least, there are huge technical difficulties. It was either get the Remastered version or nothing at all.

4) This might help with your last query:

Oh my. I'm a human being and I make spelling mistakes sometimes and also have degrading vision. So I get corrected :(.

What technical difficulties? Lost source code? Not able to make it run on Windows XP, Windows Vista, etc?
Well, GOG can only sell what the publishers give them, what the publishers allows them to sell.
If it was fully up to GOG I'm sure they'd include all the DLC's and what-not, but its not up to them.
I remember something similar cut opposite.
I want Shadow Warrior Classic Redux and Duke Nukem Megaton Edition along with their classics.

Yes. It's very difficult to get it running on modern OSs without major workarounds.

By the way, edited my post above with a link, in case that's helpful. Also for Grim Fandango at least, it's not difficult to get it on eBay, Amazon or something similar. In UK at least.

For example, games written for Windows 3.1 will not run on 64-bit machines at all without Microsoft releasing some rights to code...

They've already said that if compromising gets them new titles that wouldn't have been on here that they're happy to do it. Only when it'll lose the "core members"/big money do they say "Hey hey now, don't be hasty! We were just testing the waters."

We're talking about the people who originally said $1 does not equal 1 euro. So expect more to come when the chance arises. :P

Yeah I know about this. I didn't think that played a part for Grim Fandango at least. I need to do more research on classic old video games I guess. I only know about a select few of why they don't work.

You can use the scummvm sister project to run it, has been completable for a while and is not supposed to be difficult (I have never done it myself, but someone I know said it worked with no effort when they played it through) .

I obviously can't say whether or not this is stable enough for a commercial release while packaged like that without at least trying it myself, and even then it would need extensive testing to be sure.

Thanks. I'm toying with getting a copy off ebay so I might try this myself sometime (if I don't simply just get my Windows 95 machine out).

I wish they'd offer the original PC version of Grandia II with Win98/WinXP- and proper (non M$-)gamepad support instead of this botched new edition. -.-
...and of course the original version of Grim Fandango, Z: Steel Soldiers, as well as the Windows version (with D3D patch for Win98/XP) of Dungeon Keeper Gold and the Windows version of Sim City 2000 and not only those DosBox packages.

What exactly is the reason Deep Silver is not selling the original versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light?
