Great that you see this side here too. A whole lot of people who think they can harrass, shame and boycott developers into releasing here, drunk with the power that the internet gave to the consumer. There is no shortage of the psychological forms of violence; no shortage of bullying, personal harrassment of gog members, slander against developers, insults by gamers against gamers, self-fulfilling prophecies, conspiracy nonsense, scapegoating, whataboutism, gaslighting, and victim blaming.

The skeleton of the downrep system seems to be intact sadly, what with bot driven rep loss still going on for some, but on the whole, GOG officials have made the most crucial step towards sandblasting the crap infested ruins of their social media integration. For that, GOG has my respect, and my thanks.

They will have to follow up with making downvote bots impossible though. As I left four years ago just because of this crap, and as it is still going on, I don't really see how I can remain on the forum. Things will not improve if the abusers still win.

No, I don't buy into the delusion that it's always someone else that's to blame. Blaming precludes taking responsibility, and without responsibility problems are never solved. The roles reverse from time to time, but the insanity never ends.

While I agree that the rep system was terrible, you were downvoted for a reason.

Edit: Why even bother posting in such a thread... Geralt always opens up a thread or two (or half a dozen) in a short amount of time and (almost) never interacts with the responses. Most of the times when he posts it's a 'Why does everyone hate me?' or 'I'd never troll, it's you that's trolling'.

Not all of them were treated as spam, but some of them were treated as trolling because they were.

Apparently there were only 5 people in a group that called him out on it and I would be happy to meet the other four members, and chastise them for using multiple accounts when we hadn't agreed to that.

The rep system was definitely a distraction, although it did indicate activity (anyone with +10 or -10 has been active for some time on the forum, people with between -10 and +10, are relative forum newbies)

The removal of the rep system doesn't change the forum rules or general posting politeness at all though, so nothing has changed in that regard.

I think they were replying to the original poster who is known mostly for starting clickbaity threads and abandoning them.
