So I see The Banner Saga 2 on sale this weekend. "I want that game" I think to myself. So I go to the store page and buy it........ except I bought the "Deluxe Version" (man my old brain gets so overwhelmed with all of these different "versions" to purchase) by mistake, which includes the soundtrack... which I care nothing about...

So I asked for a refund. I bothered GoG's employees ON A WEEKEND and asked for a refund and asked if I could please have it in time to take advantage of the sale price for The Banner Saga 2.

And they gave it to me. I got my refund very timely. So I go to buy The Banner Saga 2, and am very careful this time to make sure I just get the game and then checkout and...... it won't let me buy the game except as a gift because it says I already own it. So, I figure, ok, things are still a little screwy from my refund. I'll just buy the gift and then redeem it later when the game is removed from my library.

And i contact gog support AGAIN on a weekend about this issue. And they respond again and I do what they tell me and....it STILL shows up as owned.

So I go back through my old orders and...... I ALREADY OWNED THE BANNER SAGA 2. I bought it some time ago. And forgot. And it wasn't showing up in my account, or at least not where I thought it would (right next to The Banner Saga 1) so I thought I didn't own it.

So now I have a gift code for The Banner Saga 2.

Anyone have any ideas on what I should do with it? (Feel free to tell me where to shove it after I screwed all of this up so badly)

What a moron.

What a stupid, idiotic fool I am/feel like.

Who on earth would want The Banner Saga 2?

Or I should say, "Who on earth would want to admit to wanting The Banner Saga 2 given how whenever someone wins a giveaway or asks for a gift they get their rep down voted for ever and ever and ever."

Trade it for another game you'd like?
Hang on to it to remind you to check if you've already bought a game - after a couple of similar D'Oh! moments, I try and remember to check nowadays. ;)

Pfffft sore losers will always be sore losers, I dont care about sore losers, I have lost many a giveaway and never ever downvoted someone for winning.

There is such a thing as being a good loser aka an adult.

Somebody like me or any of the other God-only-knows-how-many people have ALREADY been downvoted from here to heck anyways, so it doesn't exactly matter whether we lose another 12 or 50 or 100.
And here I thought this thread was your apology, since you were called out for not having played The Witcher 3! ;)

Well, I'd gladly give away all of my useless rep for an enjoyable game. ;P

But it sucks that you spent your money for nothing ... I own The Banner Saga 1 but never played it so far. BS2 is on my wishlist, but with me not knowing whether I'd enjoy it at all (and given that I think there will still be more parts to follow?), I was waiting for a higher discount. How much did you pay for it?

You could also try and overcome your shame and contact support again, I guess, if you care about the money.

This post has potential to become mindfuck movie plot.
Also I thought it was from Fortune_P_Dawg

Same happened with while buying King's Bounty series.
As I used to buy games as gifts so that if I liked it I could send it to Iamsinistar in TGA.
I ended up with extra copies of King's Bounty: Warriors of the North.
So I send it to Iamsinistar to find a worthy gamer for it.

So you can do a giveaway or anything which suits you.
A similar thing almost happened to me a while back during a sale... well, maybe on more than one occasion, but this is the only one I can remember at the moment.

It would be nice to have a neat little reminder somewhere on the page, whenever the extended, complete, deluxe & co. versions are listed and you own any other versions of the game that says: "Warning, you senile bloke, you already own the non-extended, non-complete, non-deluxe & non-co. version of the game. Are you *REALLY* sure you want to add this to your cart?".

Only if he actually gets to call GOG support to ask when his ticket will be resolved and hears a creaking thin-voice response: "Seven daaaays..." :)

Who cares about some sad trolls downrepping people? Give gifts, receive gifts and enjoy the games! I'd gladly take the game myself, (and it wouldn't hurt my rep anyway since every post of mine gets downvoted anyway :D), but I'd have to buy Banner Saga 1 first, and I don't have the money for that now.

It's a funny story, and I hope you find someone to gift the game to who will have great time with it :)
