dfektive: Talking remakes here not sequels. I do agree there, Aliens was just too many awesomes 8D
JDelekto: Ah, sorry about the confusion. I tend to think that many re-makes don't do too well, however, I do think that "The Lost World" saw a few good re-makes over time.
The problem comes from the fact that many visionaries tend to out-lap the creative artists in the movie industry (or the technology used therein).
I've seen on many forums that people accused "Avatar" of being a remake of "Ferngully" (which admittedly I never did see); however, I do recall reading in one of the industry magazines that James Cameron had waited for years before filming this in order for the technology to be ripe. (A cursory look on Wikipedia seems to concur.)
What I dont like about many remakes is a new director destroying everything the original stood for/ build. (Rec. for example, an original zombie movie, was butchered by its remake - forgot the name)
But some remakes are better than the original

That being said -rep could be undone by just clicking the + button and +repping the post, unfortunately there is no option for removing your rep contribution, so once clicked its either + or -.
Yeah, Im not the most patient person so I tend to click a couple of times instead of one time, + I was pretty sleepy.
cant change the rep, because I deleted the thread, after having tried revisiting the thread a 404 error message came up.
