Momo1991: I guess it depends on how much you like Daedalic, adventure P&C and HOGs. Steam is selling the Roach game at a discounted $13.49 so if you must have it, then it's a good buy. And since you are now allowed to gift the other games, you could do that.

Fesin: I'm fairly sure the Roach game isn't a game developed by Daedalic, just published. Not sure about the Shakespeare games.
Yeah, the Shakespeare games are theirs but you're correct - just publisher of the Roach game. Anyway, the roach voices made me giggle ;-p

Thay being said, the only game they've developed or produced that I didn't like so much - awful controls - were the Wallace and Gromit games. Too bad really since I love Wallace and Gromit.

Wallace & Gromit were Telltale, no? I didn't know Daedalic were involved.

They weren't involved, it was indeed Telltale. ;)
They did publish it in Germany, according to Wikipedia.
I just read a German review of Journey of a Roach that said the game would be available on Steam and GOG, so maybe they knew something we don't and it will arrive here soon? (Then again, nothing surprising about that, seeing as Daedalic already is a partner of GOG.)

The developer seems to be Koboldgames, a small studio from Switzerland, btw.

Already got most of the $1 tier, but can't say no to Deponia and Satinav for $6. Although obviously I'd rather have them on GOG.

And what happened to Google Checkout? I always used to use that, and now apparently it's shutting down. How are we going to pay for stuff on Google Play?
Okay, so I bought a bundle for 30 cents, and am now torrenting The Whispered World with incredibly slow speed. With any luck, I'll be able to tell you if the DRM-free version is available in German before the bundle is over.

Just bought the bundle!! What a great deal for a point and clicker like me. Just bought the first tier as I don't have any of the games and was waiting for a bundle like this.
Looks good, and I'm glad it's okay to gift keys now because this will be my third copy of The Whispered World. :s

Also already have A New Beginning - Final Cut. But a good price for the rest of the games regardless.

Glad they tossed us a DRM-free bone this time.

Has anyone tested gifting Steam keys on games that also come in DRM-free format?

Not that I know of, but I'm happy to provide a test case. Any game from the bundle you'd like to try?
I might get this for Journey of a Roach since that's a good price for it considering it just came out but I already have Deponia and Chains of Satinav so the BTA looks a little less appealing than just paying a dollar does right now.
I'm considering getting this bundle for The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav. The graphics look good and the story doesn't sound half bad.

I haven't played any point and click adventure games. Would this one be a good starting point?

EDIT: How difficult are the puzzles in this game?

I haven't gotten to this one as yet but most P&C's aren't terribly difficult though I usually really enjoy the puzzles. But that being said, there are walk-throughs for most games if you get stuck on some puzzle. hey not every brain works the same as a dev's brain ;-p

I tried this with spoderman today and it works fine but sadly the gift is just the key - not the drm-free version with the gift. The drm-free version stays with the gifter. Which is both good for the gifter but bad for the giftee. ~conflicted~

Well I love Daedalic and I had all of the games except the new Roach game - only produced by Daedalic btw - and the two HOG's - developed by Daedalic - but for me, three things occur - I enjoy supporting this dev/prod since they make games that I really enjoy and I really wanted the new Roach game and lastly the new HB rules make it so that I can gift a few peeps games that I truly love. Win/Win/Win ;-)
