Yeah, they seem to have dropped the cross platform thing big time now too. We've had recent bundles being Steam only even when DRM-free versions of the games exist and now we're getting Windows only bundles even when Mac and or Linux versions already exist. Humble are simply a money making machine these days. I've stopped giving them any tip at all even on the DRM-free bundles because of their increasing commercial focus.

Already voted. Anyway HB weeklies have gone under in my eyes ever since the $6 BTA was introduced. In some cases I can't seem to be able to justify it.

I usually buy games that I want to play, not just for the sake of buying a game. Though in bundles there might be cases when I like only one or two of the games.

Well, lets hope there is still somesort of retirement system + computers that can run all these bundle games still in existence after the next 40 years or so.

Is the Precipice of Darkness 1 + 2 worth getting this for? (i know the Deathspank games are ok..) Have the third game free from a reddit promo a few months back (not yet played)

Hehe. For me it's like renting a movie or a few movies every so many days for a few hours of entertainment, only I don't rent movies anymore. Instead I buy cheap games on GOG (usually on sale) and bundes that have at least one or more games that I think are worth the price paid for n hours of entertainment. I figure if I can find one game in a bundle that costs say... $4, and get at least 2 hours of entertainment out of it at $2/hr it's a good deal compared to renting a movie or some other similarly priced way of spending my copious spare time. More often than not though I'm likely to get a huge number of hours of entertainment potential out of one of the games if not several of them - maybe not immediately but whenever I get around to trying one of the games. :)

It's nice having a bit of a back catalogue when you finish a few games and are looking for fresh blood, so there is an immediate selection to choose from based on the genre of my current mood. :)

I haven't been getting GOG games lately as most of the sales that come on are either for games I'm not interested in or for games I already have... but come the holiday season sale tornado I'm sure GOG wont disappoint with a month of crazy sales deals like usual. :)

Yupp, that's what I'm hoping for :). Well the computers wouldn't be a problem since I hoard those too. The oldest one functioning that I have is a Pentium 3 450MHz :). I used to play Tex Murphy on that before the sound problems in dosbox got sorted out ;).

Even without using a not quite perfect emulator like DOSBox you could emulate the PC itself using Bochs. Might be slower, but perfect (I think) because you can install a DOS, matching graphics and sound drivers and then play your game. Today's multicore CPUs should be quite capable.

There was a wonderful game called "Mafia" where you had the role of a gang leader: enforce money, hire gang members, do robberies. It was turn-based like a better board game but immense fun when we were young. Filled a whole afternoon.
(It was in German though but you can still download the game.)
