DaCostaBR: From skimming through the conversation I thought it was only on Steam. It's just that I've seen similar conversations play out endlessly with "I want the game, but I don't want it on Steam, but I want the game, but I don't want it on Steam..." and the only purpose for them was not to find a solution but to whine about it, and I can't stand that type of stuff.
Being one of the "whiners", maybe it's worth me explaining why. It's less about trying to annoy other users and more to alert developers that there are different types of users out there.
Yes, I get why people who've invested a lot of money in Steam and who genuinely enjoy achievements etc. will support Steam.
But for someone like me, Steam is worse than vaporware: at least vaporware doesn't inconvenience me.
And yes, there are workarounds to DRM, but I've gotten to the point where I'm no longer interested in wasting my time pursuing them. If a game studio wants my money now, they need to sell me a game that doesn't inconvenience me. And if that makes me a whiner, well then I'm happy to be one :)
