keeveek: Definitely worth it. There are many great adventures to download for free for Blades of Avernum. I never tried to create my own adventure though, but there is an editor.

Thanks, I went ahead and got it for those two, as I'm a sucker for user created content and seeing that I'm accustomed to Avadon, to me Escape from the Pit will probably be the most accessible of all the other games.

Fantastic deal. I wanted to buy Avernum and Geneforce during GOG big sale but I didn't because all of these other games I would have to get. This went straight under my account as soon as I read the mail notification :).

Yeah defo buying these when I get home but as someone new to Spidersweb I'm a bit lost untangling the chronology and interconnections, especially as Avadon and Avernum sound similar and one of those is a remake of the Exile games (which aren't to be confused with the old physics based space 2d puzzle-shooter from C64s and Amiga, that Exile) and now Escape from the Pit is a remake of Avernum 1? Is it a direct remake, is there any point to playing Avernum 1 instead of EFtP?
Are Avadon and Avernum the same universe? Is one set before the other? Geneforge is more of a futuristic fantasy setting a bit like Shadowrun or Arcanum - right? So is separate or represents the future of the same planet?
Please can a Spiderweb guru talk me through it

*edit* oh and are they all turn based RPGs? Are any real time and do any lean more towards strategy?

I boought Avernum a while back and couldn't get into it, but this is too insane to ignore. Went ahead and gave him a tenner. Will work out well for him if I end up liking them, as I will pay full price for his next one.

Sweet. Had none of these. Jumped on it like a fat lady on a cake, which is like twice the size of the fat lady. I bought right at the start, beat the average at $2.75 :)

So, someone said it would be a deal to buy the games only for the hintbooks, would you say so as well?
Because I already have the games (except Avernum: Escape from the Pit and Nethergate).

And my second question would be: Could I only claim those two games and the books for myself and gift the others? Because till now I only got gifted whole pages, mostly...(although it should be no problem giving single keys away, as seen in countless giveaways around here :D).

I bought the bundle just for the hintbooks, and from what I've looked at so far I'd definitely say it was worth it. They are in pdf format and range from 20-50 pages in length. Each one seems to have sections including; general advice, walkthrough, area descriptions, maps, spells and items, quests, and cheat codes.

Plus Escape from the Pit and Nethergate both look interesting games.

I've got all but the two locked games here on GOG - thanks again summer sale! I generally don't like to look at walkthrough hint type stuff unless I get really stuck in a game. Are the hint books worth having (quality wise) and are the needed for any of the 13(??) games I have already?

I didn't notice the general advice he mentioned, it might be worth it for that. I guess I've heard these games can be difficult and don't know what to expect. Given that, the hint books might be a good backup to have.

Well, I already have almost all the games, but at $5 for the hintbooks this was worth it. Definitely wouldn't have paid the full price for a hintbook when the real failure is in how fussy/vague the games can be.
