Stooner: Son of a b.... and I just bought 1st and 2nd encounter on Steam.. ;p
avatar
Tarun: haha I have stopped buying games from any other sale.. this is my store of choice from now on for all steam purchases ;p Anyways are these games any good
I love the 1st encounter (the normal one), it's pretty much oldschool arcade shooter (ever played Painkiller?), but I don't care for the "indie" ones (kamikaze and so on..)

that said, If someone buy it, and wanna share Serious Sam 2 or the 1st encounter HD with me, I wouldn't say no... just sayin', anyway.. ;p

Same here Stooner.. Got them from GameFly for 1.99 each (I think that's correct?) Now I see this and I just about fell over like in a manga.
Okay, bought it, and as with every HIB that includes Steam-only games I paid 1$. If they want more, gimme 2 & 3 DRM-free, otherwise they can fuck off.

Everybody else should really buy 1st and 2nd Encounter here on GOG.com. There's nothing funnier playing on LAN with some friends. I'm not even really a big fan of FPS', but those games are really entertaining.

Same. Would rebuy if it was DRM-free, but...
Heh. Epic fail. Argue what you will about Steamworks with SS3 and the HD rehashes, Croteam and Humble Bundle could still have very easily included the first two vanilla SS games and Serious Sam 2. All of them are already available DRM-free. Not to mention that Team Meat and Double Fine have both plainly demonstrated that even games with fundamental Steamworks integration can be made DRM-free.

Here's me arguing that Humble Bundle had finally got their act together after doing some really stupid shit, and then they go and do it again. I guess the idea that the THQ Bundle was the start of a slippery slope was true after all, no matter how much people wanted it to not be so.

I honestly thought Humble Bundle had the balls to make a difference. I guess I was wrong. They managed to flex their muscles against a few indie developers, but when it came to the show of strength against actual publishers of influence, it dissolved in a puff of smoke.

The THQ bundle definitely had a bad influence. If the HIB guys would to this day not budge from their principles, I'm pretty sure that Croteam would have given them more DRM-free versions, because for them it's getting funds for SS4. But now that HIB has Steam-only games in almost every bundle, why would they bother?
Humbug!

Actually the games are included:
"Serious Sam 3: BFE Deluxe Edition includes Serious Sam 3: BFE on Steam for Windows, Mac, and Linux, Serious Sam Classic: The First Encounter and Serious Sam Classic: The Second Encounter DRM-free and on Steam for Windows, and the soundtrack for Serious Sam 3 if you pay over the average."

Agree about the DRM-free versions.

Ah, that was quite hidden away there. Not so bad then, but my comments still apply in respect of SS2 and 3.
