Orkhepaj: Sounds like lucky bag, isn't that gambling?
I don't believe so. This is more an incentive on Humble's end to get people to stop extendo-pausing, often just to keep Classic pricing/benefits, but they aren't forcing them to do so.

Crap like this is gambling/gacha style wastes of money though.

Yeah that is clearly gambling , but here you don't know the extra it is very similar.

"We’ve put together a special exclusively curated roster of fantastic AAA and Indie titles for you to discover in our Spring Mystery Bundle. Plus, 10 lucky gamers will be able to find our 'Best of 2020' Packs hidden inside, each worth over $300!"
hehe:D I bet the kids fall for this , that aaa indie titles sounds like 2-3 $ games with mixed or worse ratings

I bought one of the mistery bundles and it had some nice games in it (e.g. Hitman, Shadows: Awakening, Devil Daggers). But I have a very broad taste in gaming and for me almost every game is worth at least one dollar. So I'm easy to satisfy and don't consider mistery bundles a waste of money.

TT_TT_TT_TT: Really legit bundle this month. I'm opting in again this month

Orkhepaj: looks meh for me
hope you will like them
Well i guess its not a "mainstream" bundle and i totally can agree with some ppl being underwhelmed.
For me it turned out good as
Hitman 2 was on my wishlist but not bought yet
I always wanted to play Opus Magnum.
Turok Remaster has nice nostalgia feel
Truberbrook was on my wishlist as well
Gris was a game which always looked interested but i did not want to spend money on
And well Driftland looks like a game i might enjoy and would not even really known/"cared" about without the bundle.
So ya for me its a good one.

You're an outlier either way, given that you got decent (...I guess?) titles with buying just one. Other people will chase down the likes of what you got, blowing away their money to get it.

Don't mistake what I wrote to be a universal application though - clearly it's up to each individual how they choose to spend what they have. But looking at it from a realistic, if not entirely cynical view, at what point does one consider digging into savings just to get "the big one" to be worthwhile, especially when weighing the value of it against how much might have been spent to just attain it.

(Observational aside - this stuff is progressively getting worse, is it not? As a non-subscriber, I used to feel a bit worried something truly good would roll out but so far this has been like a rollercoaster with little to no adrenaline rush from reading the last few months alone)

If you had told me half-a-year ago that I would end up pausing every single Choice bundle this year, I would have looked at you with wide-eyed disbelief.

Dammit Humble.

TheMonkofDestiny: *snip*
Yeah, it's been lackluster to bad. This month it's horrible. Might as well pause every month just in case something not terrible comes along at some point.
I read through the Humble subreddit and noticed a disproportionate number of posts where people were mentioning Humble mailing out discounts to get the Premium Choice tier at Classic tier pricing for a year/etc. and am wondering if the bloom is finally starting to fall off the rose with this and they're just desperate for subs and existing "but, MAH CLASSIC PRICE!" habitual pausers to start giving them money again.

It may not be the death knell just yet, but if this keeps up I wouldn't be too surprised to learn that it's coming. I'd open the floor to a game of guesses on how much longer it suffers before they take it out back and shoot it to end its misery but fear they'll trot out a rotting corpse before they fully admit defeat on it.

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "getting railroaded".
