It's not a bad bundle, but as it happens a lot with this stuff, the games that are good in the bundle I bought years ago already.

Does the goat simulator come with all the DLC on the DRM free version or is the steam key the one that comes as full game?

It works like GOG connect. You register your Steam account with them, and they check what games you already have. The keys you get from Humble are supposed to be for your personal use only, unless you buy the whole bundle as a gift. Of course, there is still a gift option for each individual key (in some bundles), so I'm not exactly sure what that is about, but the upshot is that I can gift the game to someone else, but can't claim it for myself.
The DRM free download is called Goat Simulator: GOATY, so I assume so.

Well, you can always manually decide how much does every dev receive (I do it every time, to reward those devs that support Linux and/or DRM-free versions).


According to Grargar's and my experience, neither the Windows nor the Linux DRM-free versions of this game do work, so it's hard to tell for sure (even though the difference in size between the Steam version and the one offered DRM-free mentioned by Grargar is a big hint).

As far as I can tell, the Linux DRM-free version has some directories and files related to the DLCs, so there may be hope.

Hmm, SteamWorld Heist DRM-free...I didn't finish even a half of Dig either...hmm....other than that, besides Owlboy, I don't see much going for it.

True, but I wonder how many people actually do that, in the grand scheme of things. Anyway, I'm not buying it myself, for the same reason that DaCostaBR mentioned. ;)

When you say that you can't claim it, do you mean that the "Redeem on Steam" button is greyed out like in the attached image? In that case, have you actually tried clicking it or did you assume that it's unclickable?

I am in the same position as Wishbone (own Goat Sim, but had none of the DLC), if you just click on the greyed out button, it gives you a popup warning that after clicking again you can't turn the key into a gift link, then it reveals the Steam Key that when added to your steam account gives you the DLC. This, of course, does not result in a gift key for the base game, so be warned if you want that for some reason, but there is no need to wait for the ticket from HB to come back to get the DLC.

Perhaps the first humble bundle ever that tempts me to buy everything. Besides Goat Simulator, I'd like to play all the other games. Some I really want to play like Kentucky Route Zero and Owlboy and some others like Windward and Ziggurat seem interesting enough to give them a try.

Very very tempting. I'd like them here and I want to clear my backlog a little bit but maybe I'll yield.

Either own it already or don't want it. So, whatever. If it comes to it you can permanently remove your current Steam version from your library and then add the GOATY one to it.

Well, the current ones are. Looks like some Steam exclusives will be added later.

Wondering if adding some files from a cracked version would fix it (unless you tried that already) I was beginning to get my hopes up when I see so much DRM-free in a Humble Bundle package.

Yeah, I was probably wrong about that. I just noticed there was no "DRM-free" tag under the "Pay what you want" button (and no DRM-free icon for "More games coming soon!"), but apparently they don't always bother using that. I guess the "Pay $1 or more for access to content on Steam" bit pretty damn heavily implies DRM-free being the default. :-P

I suppose I'm overly suspicious of Humble since I recall there being a bundle that was advertised as DRM-free, yet later a Steam exclusive game was added... but that wasn't an Indie one, which indeed have always been DRM-free.

That's not actually true. The Humble Indie Bundle 15 included Gang Beasts in Early Access, which was Steam-only. But other than that (and except maybe one time they included a discount coupon) yeah, HIBs are supposed to be fully DRM-free and multiplatform.

However, I wouldn't raise my hopes too high for next week's bonus games. In recent HIBs they tended to be either repeats from previous bundles, or very low-profile games.
