In totally unrelated news, beavers took down internet service for a community in British Columbia. Dam! Haha.

Humble have been going downhill for years. The IGN takeover merely accelerated the transition from DRM-Free Indie champion into Generic Watered Down Steam Key Reseller With A Crappy Parent Company...

We can complain about GOG, but HB's downfall has been much worse.
Nice news about the beavers, anyway!
Sad to hear this. I've a lot of respect for them but this is unnecessary. They're making bank. If anything, they should INCREASE the amount you can contribute.

What did it say, precious? It likes its profitses? Its fat, juicy profitses?
That's it for humble from me then.

They are the only people I ever got any Steam games through and that was because I could give all the money to charity to ensure that none of my money went to Valve or the devs (I didn't want to reward them for releasing through a DRM platform).

If it's going to be a tiny, unchangeable proportion to charity going forwards, for me there's no point in buying there. Shame, because I liked the original idea.

If you want that without the psychotic owners (IGN aka SATAN) and are looking for keys and bundles and more keys and not a bunch of stupid books all the time CHECK OUT https://www.fanatical.com/

but really these guys are awesome and they have really unique collection of stuff... often times the cheapest place for a lot of games.

I don't even remember the last time I bought anything from Humble. It's just steam keys, steam keys and more steam keys.

I was wondering where the fuck the sliders went. Definitely pisses me off a bit though I'm more in the position of buying on Humble Bundle for the cheap DRM-Free book bundles.
I know that's not sexy but hey you can get a lot of fiction, non-ficion and technical books there for a good deal. That being said I find it ridiculous they're doing this as the WHOLE fucking purpose, with the Bundle aspect at least, was that devs. and others did this for charity. Whether or not they were doing it for charity because they wanted to really do it or for a tax write-off is irrelevant, it was started for charity. If the devs. didn't like it they could just piss off with packaging some of their games in a bundle.
They very rarely had worthy charities to donate too.
I don't give a crap about Humble and never buy from them, since the vast majority of their games are DRM'ed through Steam.

I remember being able to select the charity you could donate to (you could change the one that the bundle defaulted to in most cases and they had a long list to choose from). It was a nice way for me to funnel money to Diabetes UK.

Its all Steam keys though right? No DRM free?
IGN bought them out!?

Well, that explains a lot.... I really appreciated their earlier efforts and I will echo the sentiment: the move to steam key reseller was a major disappointment.

HB was how I learned about World of Goo, Machinarium, and countless others.
