Now that the community has had the time and opportunity to vent, make reasoned arguments and let their voice be totally ignored, there is one absolute way to get CDP and GOG to permanently stop bundling the POS Galaxy client with our games.

WE WILL NOT BUY ONE MORE PRODUCT OFF GOG until we can download our games freely and in stand-alone form again.

It is that simple.

HIT THE BOTTOM LINE AND HIT IT HARD!

Speak in the only language that matters to businesses these days.

All the PR propaganda and spin that Fables and Destro spew is pure horse shit and bald face lies.

GOG does not care - at all - nor have they taken any suggestion, complaints or reasoned argument into account at all. It has been completely ignored - and will continue to be ignored entirely unless we hit the BOTTOM LINE and hit it HARD.

I for one will not be purchasing anything off GOG until we get OUR games and OUR products back the way WE BOUGHT OUR GAMES AND THE WAY THEY WERE SOLD TO US.

Despite this obvious fact, the overwhelming majority of you will not do this, and GOG will continue to get worse, push more shit and lie to its customers.

Granted its a bit extreme and reactionary but he has the right to share and express it.

Just in case you missed.

So there will be an option in installers to get galaxy. If its selected, then standalone installer will download galaxy installer from internet after it finishes. If there is internet connection available. But galaxy installer will not be bundled.

This is a prime of example of the saying: You can't please everyone. Sure this could have and perhaps should have been handled better, but GOG has more than went out of their way to accommodate both sets of users here.

Except that all the people that vented in the other thread probably don't even amount to 1 percent of GOG buyers...odds are GOG won't even notice your protest! So it's a good thing you told them.

They're going to do what they want to do, eventually, one way or another.

If we all boycott them they will have to take notice that their sales are down a half a percent, right? After all, most of the people who complain on the forums I see complaining that the games are too expensive and they won't buy until a deep deep discount. Sure GOG will miss all those cheapskate sales.

That and the forums would what.. make up about 0.0001% of the customer base.....Im sure GOG is trying to do the right thing... and as a business leaving galaxy as default option ticked is usually the thing businesses do when they want to push a given feature/product of their service.....It *is* still optional -- is it that hard for people to actually read and untick a check box?. seriously.....

Small minorities often account for a high percentage of a company's sales. I rather doubt that the average GOG user has 1500 games in their library.
