After trying several combinations of search terms without getting any results, I just ask straight ahead:

How do you delete your own posts or even threads?

I accidently created a new thread, where no one has replied yet, and I like to delete it after noticing there was already another thread with the same topic I have not seen before.

If you ask to delete it, mods or whoever usually take care of it.
You could edit a post as well and just leave it black or ask for it to be deleted.

I think that's what I did once after creating duplicate threads.

I thank you for your quick reply. I was afraid that was the case. Unfortunately the game's forums I am currently frequently visiting is lacking proper moderation which makes it difficult to request moderators' assisstance. I have done what you recommended with the edited note and the request for deletion.

Thank you.

You may want to ask a moderator through DM, or wait until a moderator notices this post.

The only one who seems to moderate the forums I refer to, seems only to be one single user marked as developer.

This is the forums I refer to: https://www.gog.com/forum/pathfinder_wrath_of_the_righteous#1632497222

But that developer seems to ignore posts which go against GOG code of conduct and common sense. It goes already so far that I submitted a support ticket towards the GOG support team, providing with screenshots of post which should not be allowed. In any other forums I would expect users there getting warnings or even getting banned.

I tried to DM mentioned developer, but found no option to do so. Is there a difference between them and actual forums moderators? If nothing happens I rely on my support ticket which is still pending since last week.

Thank you for your tip and efforts to help me with my question(s). ^^

Afaik, developers in this forum are the people who develop the game, while moderators are the ones that need to keep the forum in order.
And developers' messages in the forum have yellow/orange text, while moderators' are blue.
And if the user allows DM, you can drag the mouse over the user's avatar and click in the "start conversation" option. If they don't allow it, the option will be greyed out.

Thank you very much for this information and clarification about the questions I had.

My conclusion is that the forums in question are indeed lacking proper moderation. The developer who is supposed to take care of it/at least showed signs to take care of it has not the option to be contacted.

Which leaves me hoping that moderators would get active based on the support ticket I have sent. I am a little reluctant on seeking out a moderator, after noticing that me reporting posts as spam did not seem to work as a call out for a need of moderation. I was already reluctant using that option while I would see those posts in questions more as verbal harassment and bad insults with their nazi comparison.

I hope at least the support ticket might get a moderator to help out there. At least once a week or so.

Hello Sarafan,

I hope I did everything correctly with my attempt to provide you with the information using that private chat message. Regardless of your decisions I like to thank you for your efforts in advance. It gives me some relief to know that moderators do actually care. Especially since I just wish to enjoy talking about games in the forums and having more fun by doing so with other people.
