Xenoplant777: So, I've been wanting to get something from this site for a while now, but I'm very paranoid about giving out my credit card info. Has anyone ever had any problems with GOG, as in, has their credit card info ever been stolen? I want to take advantage of this sale, but my paranoia doesn't help.
Never had a problem personally. Now that GoG has two factor authentication you have virtually nothing to worry about as long as your GoG account and email account have two different passwords.

nightcraw1er.488: We could be watching a game where the ball is hit with the foot, and maybe call it soccer ;op
I don't want to hear it because there are no fucking insects in Cricket!

tinyE: Rubber means a different thing on this continent than on the other ones. :P

Right now all of our English brethren are asking, "What the fuck does rain have to do with it!?"
In the UK A "Rubber" is more likely to be thought of as an Eraser.
Rubber Boots are known as Wellies.

And in England rain has every thing to do with it.

Thiev: We don't store credit card info at all.
Not sure that's 100% true anymore, but it's an optional feature I refer to.

When I joined GOG they certainly didn't store my card details, and as a consequence, I had to enter the details for every purchase.
That wasn't optional, and I had no choice, but to enter the number for each purchase.

This is the system Thiev/GOG refer to and it remains that way to this day.
However earlier this year (a month, or two according to my fallible memory), I was offered the optional choice to allow GOG to "remember" my card number, this optional choice was one I accepted.
Since that time GOG has stored my card number somehow, or has some means of linking my account to that card.

As can be seen in the attached picture
The card "Ending in ####" and "Expires MM/YYYY" enyttries are already filled.
When I complete the purchase, I'm usually still asked for the 3 digit code off the back of my card, before buying, but when completing the order pictured, I wasn't, it just went through.
Looking at my Order page afterwards, I see another "pending" order for that product, after buying, so maybe that messed the normal system up.

I choose to use this system, and GOG has also added the two step Login option, for unknown devices, where email conformation is required, I consider GOG's security as the best on the net, as I can choose to enter my card for each purchase.

I prefer to only have to enter my 3 digit code, and not have to do all the extra typing, each time.

I'm not sure how this newer system works, but something is stored, but only with my choice and permission.
Having checked all the current information, nothing explains exactly how this works, the site should be updated to explain this new system.

To be perfectly clear, I'm fine with how this works, but can't expain it to somebody else, I suspect it uses the same sort of encrypted storage as other sites that remember card numbers.
That's purely speculation by me, clarification from GOG, would help.

It was discussed in the news article about it, a bit before the last insomnia sale. I also posted a small explanation of it in post 23. Feel free to ask for more clarifications.

Xenoplant777: Well, thanks to all that chimed in. I guess I'll have to trust GOG on the fact that they don't keep credit info, and it seems like people don't have trouble, so I guess, its safe.
Years ago I didn't trust internet purchases too. What I did that helped a lot was I got a credit card specifically for internet purchases, with the lowest spending limit the bank would issue. This way I could test the waters without "risking" anything.

Maxvorstadt: Credit card? Man, I don`t use credit card, I use Paysafecard, so no info about my bank account is given out in the internet.
I can't get a paysafecard locally.

Well, I am not sure about the copulation status of insects, however I am sure drag racing doesn't involve men in dresses.

Why? Paysafecards should be available all over the world, maybe except Greece.

Thanks for the clarification, but I was searching the official terms and conditions/privacy Policy/FAQ for details, where it's not mentioned, as far as I could see.
It should have something there to explain how it works, as it appears as if the card number is stored.

I'm happy it works just fine, and was trying to find an official link where I'd expect yo find it.

Actually nvm i checked and what I mean is that none are avaliable in my local town. They're all in convenience stores or ethnic grocery stores- nearest store that has one is a town over and 15 minutes away.

My point is, I think it should be part of the main sites info, on terms and conditions, not buried in forum posts, but thanks anyway to both of you.

So 15 minutes are too much for your safety?
