No more than 10$ (5$ on average). I only buy games when they're on sale, I only buy digital, I mainly focus on old-ish titles. And I buy few games overall (only those that I'm going to play in the near future and I'm reasonably sure I'll enjoy).
There are very few exceptions to this, e. g. when a game is going to be removed that I'm interested in. But, luckily, this happens very rarely.

games with lots of dlcs are a nono too , they just split features out and sell the base game cheap ,but if you want a fulfilling game you need those dlc-s and then it will cost 80+ euros easily , huge nono

As for games being overpriced, with the mega-sales culture the industry knows most people won't buy them until they are heavily discounted; that's the real base price. I'm not mad at them. Most devs and publishers wouldn't probably survive otherwise.

However much I think it's worth it to me which can vary greatly. So ~$40 including inflation then? =P

Waiting for discount 99% of the time. I refuse to buy full price because that means $72 instead of $60 for me in most cases.

I usually start considering a purchase from 50% discount up. So I'd say around $30-35 is my top limit when I reaaaaly want to play a game.

The last game I bought full price was Serious Sam 4. Before that, it was so long I have no idea.

So, most of my purchases - they are $15 and under. And often, that's me grabbing games in bundles too - like from Humble or Fanatical.

Sometimes, you'll catch me drop say $20 or $30 on a game.

Most games get de-valued fast with DLC's, Expansions, Season Passes, etc etc - so, again, more reason to wait. And many games these days Day 1, especially in AAA space, can turn out to have stability issues, performance issues, nasty CTD's, etc etc.

I'd probably at tops spend like $30 on a big AAA title these days - like say something the likes of a Cyberpunk 2077 or Red Dead Redemption 2.

I have such a ridiculous backlog anyways, so...often, I feel I just, in many cases, might as well wait. Might as well just play something that I can often pull straight out of the backlog.

I'm willing to spend plenty for good games. I have $150 set aside, actually, for when the fuckups at Paradox ever decide to release Cities: Skylines and its DLC here.

"roguelite" games tend to drop my valuation of a product considerably.

Ie, each on their own. I've certainly overspent for some (Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars; not a bad game, just not what I expected when I paid full for it), and underspent for others (Stardew Valley, Bloodstained...)

Depends: for physical collector's/limited editions I have paid as much as the price on day one or what had to be pledged for physical edition crowdfunding's tiers but only if the game is shipped internally to EU, otherwise the cheapest tier that includes a digital edition of the game, I don't care for wallpapers and other digital content.

For Digital Distribution during sales preferably when there are heavy discounts, if It's not a game I want badly then I wait (years) until it gets under 10..15€/USD depending on the title.

I don't have a limit per se, but it must be a helluva game (in my mind) if I ever go out of my way to pay more than €25 for it.

It's a case by case situation with me, If I simply feel a game is worth the asking price for whatever reason, I'll happily pay it, especially if it's in one of my most preferred genres.

It also depends on how much the service sad game is on has earned my respect... or lost it, like how I've bought many games on GOG at full launch price, something that will never happen again at this rate.

Calling KOF14 a 'simple brawler' is a bit unfair, the amount of work that goes into these titles mechanically is huge, SNK pour their hearts into their mainline titles like this. Filesize is not a true measure of quality either.

SNK are actually on a bit of a tight rope these days budget wise and when their games are explicitly designed for a niche audience, they have to recoup the costs somehow. I will however never begrudge any casual gamers for passing KOF14 over for the price though, It is expensive. Especially when said casual player is highly unlikely to be able to (or find the desire to) play it to a level that would make the price feel justified.
