I just wanted to post this as a sort of poll to see how many people actually go as far as boycotting Steam games. It'd have to be a damn good game for me to consider buying a Steam exclusive.

Its not just steam, its all singleplayer games with online DRM.
Not sure if I'd still call that boycott, but as of yet nothing convinced me to waste precious time (and money) on a Steam release.

God you people are pretentious.
However, I also have no problem with people who take fundamentalist stances, so long as they do not harass, hurt, or try to argue using fallacious information or logic against people who do not hold the same opinions.
I find it fairly pretentious of you and rather hypocritcal to assume that everyone who does not share in your same views is doing so to 'look like a gaming rebel to impress others on a message board'. Certainly, there are some who I think have not really given Steam a fair shake and will vehemently argue their position regardless any well-conceived counterpoints, but there are also plenty who I respect for their values and opinions and for whom I believe have valid reasons for not partaking in the service.

I love Steam. It has made gaming in Linux so much easier. I'm also really looking forward to having GOG Galaxy in Linux. I enjoy being able to browse through all my games and click to install, rather than manually installing by individual downloads.

I have only 3 Steam Games and have not used it in almost 4 years.
I just don't want DRM bundled with my games. Though Steams DRM is better than most when its by itself.
Personal choice and I respect others who use it. Good sales and some decent tools make it a decent choice.
This is mostly because I buy stuff on console. If my rig were better and I wanted newer games I'd probobly use my Steam Acoount.
To each his own.
That and fuck DRM.

I currently boycott Origin and Uplay only. When given the choice thoughi prefer GOG. And it seems that most of my favorite games from steam are beginning to show up here, so i stay away from buying anything on steam outside of bundles.

This is a tough one, as a Linux gamer I credit Valve/Steam with (in the majority of cases, in one way or another) with games existing on the Linux platform. However I also feel strongly against DRM. So is not using Steam proverbially slapping Valve in the face/Biting the hand the feeds you?
I currently support both with a preference of DRM free if possible, but its tough

Ah ah, Uplay is such a disaster still. What's wrong with Origin now?

I want to own what I pay for and don't wanna be treated like a potential criminal when buying a game (what implementing DRM is implying). So, no Steam. Happy with GOG as games source.

This thing still baffles me. Do you own GOG games? No. You own the license to play said game. Are you allowed to sell you GOG game?
