Is that for every game? I've basically avoided any of the Assassin's Creed games because I can't figure out what form of DRM they're saddled with. And the vendors I've seen are either vague about it (Other DRM a la Gamersgate) or they have the old requirements (permanent on-line connection) still listed.

The only games I have ever purchased from Steam were the Mount and Blade Collections, but the only reason I bought it from Steam was because they were on sale (half as much as Tale Worlds) and all I wanted was the Serial Keys to activate the demo's I downloaded from the Tale Worlds Website.
I will never buy games from Steam as long as they continue with their current DRM/software/serial key required strategy. Actually, I doubt I would buy from them even if they went DRM-Free because I would rather support GOG.

Steam games are so cheap they cancel out whatever problems the platform has.

The game devs,/distributors/designers/ etc want to make money. DRM increases revenue and as such is not going away as it is embraced by mainstream devs and such.
Comparing steam prices to bundle prices is not exactly apples to oranges. Devs/distributors give discounted license to bundle organizer, steam does not get that discount in most cases. They are certainly not going to lose money selling a game because it was in a bundle for a charity a few months back. I hear a lot of people boycott steam...even more boycott Origin, I get it, some people boycott DRMs...some people boycott other things for what they believe in. I am not saying you are right or wrong, just that I get the boycott mentality. Though at the end of the day, someone, somewhere, was wronged in someway for nearly anything that you buy.

Since every web store makes sales, episodic sales don't cancel anything on a platform, since everyone does sales.
