There's over 7k Mac compatible games on Steam? Can't say I've heard this argument a lot. (but then, I don't really pay attention to mac stuff)

Before steam there were achievements and community tools from other programs. If you needed a patch or update there were numerous fileservers.
Steam killed them off with their inferior replacement although the Xbox with it's paid for service laid the groundwork.

As I said. I haven't looked back at Steam since the beginning days of it. So I am behind on knowing what is really going on over there. That there are Mac compatible games is good to hear. I shall check to see what is all offered.

I'd be boycotting Steam except for specific Steam exclusives, except I frequently get gifted Steam wallet cards. Put out a wallet card, GOG, I'd so use that.

See pro Steamite's out in force as per usual. Havent bought any games on steam (let alone check their sales ) for about 3-4 years...

I avoid steamgames for over an year now, cause the price for many games costs more and more money than 3 years ago and they keep pushing prices so long low minded people buy it there.

In my case, because GOG (when it was called Good Old Games) had older games that weren't available elsewhere. As for why I'm still here, I'm not going to abandon my library and account. Not yet, at least.

Checked out steam on what mac games they had. I had to manual do a google search to see only mac games there. GoG lets us search for games based on system and such even as a guest. Steam had nothing of the sorts. Plus most of the games that the Mac could use were mainly junk. Anywho, I don't think I'll be using steam for game buying.

Doesn't sound like you put in much effort. Better to just ignore Steam.

If there was any steam game that I wanted to boycott, it would be GRID. GRID got removed from GOG just a day (if I remember correctly) after I bought the game on steam. I was honestly looking forward on transferring the game to my GOG library once GOG Connect had it in its list before it got removed.

why would u boycott steam? massive sales, free cloud save, forum to ask questions, add friends for custom match. only prolbme i have with these launcher drms is that many publishers get there own and make their games only avaliable on their launcher, i dont want to install so many things to bloat my computer. i only have steam, gog, and uplay (only free games on uplay), i refuse to install origin and gfw to bloat my computer even more so they should make their games avaliable on other places. publishers are missing out on people like me by making their games exclusive on their launchers.

Believe it or not, I did the drop down tab for games but at that time no such listings for Mac OS X were available. I am on a PC that handles video content and such better than the other day I tried. I suspect that the way the school PC is set blocks certain things from showing up properly. I should had realized that. Anything on the Win 8.1 PC never shows up correctly while the other PC I am using now using Win 7 shows everything correctly on the web. Just can't watch youtube on the school's network. Anyway, going to re-look at it now.
