Hey guys i am curious about how keen are you on 100%-ing your games

So far, i believe that i have only 100%-ed one game - Metal Gear Solid V the Phantom Pain. Even then, i have not collected everything there's in the game (for instance i haven't developed all weapons yet) but i have all 42 achievements and my completion rate shows 100%. Wasn't especially difficult, you just need to figure out how to exploit AI's weaknesses (for instance they don't hear you fultoning stuff from more than 30 metres, so if no enemy is inside of that range you can just fulton every single thing)

Meanwhile i have played over 600 hours of Witcher 3 (on Steam, but i recently bought a GOG copy as well) and i have only got 67% of all achievements. But i never played the game for the sake of achievements themselves. However, i think i have done all the quests and found all interesting stuff available... But i could very well be wrong.

Actually, now that i think of it, there's almost surely something in Toussaint i missed.

I dunno whether to define 100%-ing as getting all achievements or just collecting every single thing and listening to every conversation etc.

Anyway do you 100% your games or is that not your thing

I am kinda ashamed i have never 100%-ed a LEGO game

I don't care at all about achievements. And I don't care that much anymore about seeing all possible content compared to when I was younger (in the late 1990s/early 2000s). I did play Age of decadence a lot about three years ago and got most (not all) of the possible endings, because it's a fairly short game and the different branches the story can take are interesting. But in general I don't have the interest or energy for something like that in most games nowadays.
I don't care for achievement or secrets. The only exception is when there is NEW content based on getting the extras. Like a new ending, or extra lore about the game world and stuff like that.

Don't care about achievement. So say we all, this is the way.

So say it in Doom (the original): 100% kills, 100% secrets, on Ultraviolence - that's a valid and worthy goal, if you feel like it.

Kill 20 enemies in a row at new moon by farting on them, doing a dance and then poking them 100 times with a blunt fork - for one "bling"? No thanks.

But it was it 100%'d?
Achievements are worthless unless they unlock something useful. Might as well just make those things side-quests or whatever you want to call them.
I really hate that '100%ing a game' now means to get 100% of the achievements and not do everything the game has to offer. I 100%ed a few games, did everything there was to do, all side stuff, all collectibles and then the achievements tell me 30% or so done. And then, if you look at the achievements, they are the kind of shit described by toxicTom. Usually a bunch of stuff that completely falls outside of the normal game loop, or stuff that is part of a very specific challenge run.
Trying to do everything the game has to offer is one thing, but doing weird forced stuff just for an achievement? No thank you.
- If you mean: get all achievements - I don't care.
- If you mean something else: please define it clearly.
Still, it sounds a lot like doing things in games for the sake of doing them. I'm going to say no that. What do I want out of a game? A good experience. Nothing more, nothing less.

Try 100%'ing your posts, including a capital letter and a question mark. Maybe some context while you're at it.

My post is pretty self explanatory.

I do it if I feel like it. Usually I only work for the achievements I don't find to be a lot of bother.
