So a couple of months ago, i got permanently suspended from a certain site for ban evasion. Yes, yes, i know, most of you would like for me to be suspended here as well, but keep that to yourselves because that's beside the point.

I am just curious how do these sites track me and whether i am evading a ban?

I am assuming they can detect my IP and where i am posting from, and therefore more or less accurately tell if i am evading a ban. So, say that i shared my phone with a girlfriend or whatever, and she started posting in the communities i am banned from, that would count as ban evasion, as well?


So say that i moved to the opposite side of the country, changed my device, used a different e-mail, and changed my habits of posting, they would not detect it then, right?

I know i did wrong, but i am just curious how do you think these sites figure out a ban evader.

Regarding your question: Many sites don't really track it but just ban you again if they notice it from your behaviour.

I would say it depends on the site, but you can be tracked by many things. Microsoft if you didnt set it up right keeps a tracker, so does google, I am sure some sites have access to that. I would say some of the emulatora for mmos might install a tracker on your computer. I have to proof of that one so dont take that as the lords words haha. Ip tracking only goes so far. When I get bored i go on a ulitma online gold seller web page and spam the shit out of his help chat, takes him awhile to ip ban me but then i jusr change my ip. One time he threatend me with the town the ip was linked to haha, he must deal with some cowards.

The only other site that ip banned me from thier site was project 1999, because i aaid quite fan boying the guy who died limked to everquest its disgraceful.

That didnt work though i have no in treat is p1999 any more, I just tried to make a account there though now and they let me. How they would link the 2 together hmmm, other than ips, they could search google to find simalirtes between accoints and figure it out.


They souldnt be able to figure that out if you changed devices, ip, and oeprating aystems.

What I know is; almost all big companies are tracking you/ your behavior. and it does not end there. These same companies track you on your phone as well.

It's pretty easy if some company let's cal it company A has a deal with company B.
Company A is a site where you evaded ban. Company B is a pure data/tracking site. It gets its data from various sources/other companies. Now other companies don't have to sell their data to Company B they can just make an agreement that WE should share our data with each other. means Company B can use Company C, D, E, Fs data free of cost in exchange of letting Company C, D, E, F to use Company B's data as well. I can go deeper but lets just leave it that.

Google Analytics is a tracking software free of cost to use that tracks you. and almost every small to medium size business use it. It's owned and operated by Google. You get the point...


Now coming back to where we were; Company A has or purchased a deal with Company B and uses its data sources. Now comes AI (artificial intelligence). With its help it is pretty easy to track you just pay afew hundered dollars and you are done.

They probably regularly consult a witch who's looking in her crystal ball for ban evaders. And if they find out you're doing it they'll have a horrible curse put on you which will slowly drive you insane. So don't do it, it's not worth it.

Seriously though, probably through IP checks but that is not always 100 percent reliable.

By IP in the first instance, but also like some have mentioned about Google etc, which kind of amounts to Web DNA.

Really it depends on the site and their connection with others, especially the big end of town, and how good their techs are.

Unless you are prepared to go to a lot of trouble with private windows and IP changes, VPN, disabling browser tracking, etc and creating a new account, then you may be out of luck ... so avoid getting banned.
