So I have been bored on the Medieval 2 Total War base game perticularly how the siege battles don't go as I want them to. Then I thought of how the Siege Battle of Helm's Deep in the Lord of the Rings movie was like and I saw this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aycUPrhFbdU

So how do I install it because from what I have seen it looks a bit complicated.

As per their own instructions.

IIRC, it has installer, it can't be that complicated.

pretty mucha 100% yes asnwer!
Installation

Requirements:
- TATW 3.2 is a stand-alone version and does not require any existing installations of TATW!
- If you have installed a previous version of TATW (2.1 or older), it is recommended to delete the old version before installing TATW 3.2.
(Note that TATW doesn't change any registry settings of your system, so you can also delete the old TATW folder "Third_Age" manually.)
- TATW 3.2 requires the 'Medieval 2 - Kingdoms Expansion' and is compatible with the official patch 1.04 and 1.05. (One installed campaign of the 'Kingdoms Expansion' is enough)

Installation:
- Install
TATW_3.0_Part1of2.exe &
TATW_3.0_Part2of2.exe &

You do not need the 3.1 patch, it contained a virus, just download the 3.2 patch and it will work.
into the default "Medievall II Total War" directory.
(Normally this is: "Programs/SEGA/Medieval II Total War")
If you have installed Medieval II into another folder, please select the folder manually.
- Start the mod with the 'Third Age - Total War' shortcut on your desktop

I asked this while it was downloading (1 gb can take awhile for my internet speed). And what threw me off was the fact that the download is in 2 parts.

Does it have Custom Games like the Vanilla where I can set my army in whatever map I want?

And if it does is Helm's Deep a customizable map?

so in other words, like usual, you didnt bother to read anything else, and immediately make a thread here asking us to tell you what to do?!

IN FUTURE. READ THE BLOODY INSTRUCTIONS!

I have no idea. While I own the base game, I dont have the expansion and thus don't have the mod. Took only a moment to find the install instructions though, so thought I'd post them in case you missed them.

How long has it been since I ask how to install a mod in this forum for crying out loud :P
I was able to google them too in about 30 seconds and I saw there is extra step for Steam users but I figured Elmo can find them the same way (and they are also likely mentioned during installation) so I didn't bother to post them.

Well since we already covered the whole installation part.

Now I like to know somethings about the mod itself.

Does it have custom Battles? Or is it a purely campaign only mod?

Infact how does the campaigns itself work? Do they follow a narritive like the books and movies or is it just a free for all sandbox campaign like the Total War games themselves?

I read it and it said nothing about a campaign being structured by narretive so it is the Sandbox style campaign of the base game is it?

As to the custom battles:

"More than 25 custom settlements and famous locations"

So I can play a Custom Battle in say the Hornburg where I can put trebuchets behind the wall? Or have the Orcs use Siege Towers?
