I could go on a bit but political discussions are against the forum rules.
I mentioned no politicians. Otherwise "political" can be anything at all, including game talk It's simply too broad a term.

Myconv, I suggest you might want to reacquaint yourself with the GOG forum rules.

Last time I checked they did not allow political discussion without it being directly related to a game(s).

The old adage of capitalism being the worst... except for all the alternatives... is very true. Cyberpunk was flawed because it was pushed out to make money before a certain date, sure. Without capitalism though, Cyberpunk wouldn't exist. So... flawed, but best.

The adage is about democracy, not capitalism.

Also anything but capitalism has barely been tested. Obviously state run everything is no good. And aristocracy that proceeded capitalism is no good. Most other efforts to look behind capitalism have been crushed by capitalism, either economically (because it's a system of stealing and concentrating power for the few so that means a few people with lots of power) or influencing governments to do so militarily

It's kind of like saying "Internal Combustion Engines are the worst, except for all the others" So um, please don't try and progress the technology any, that'll be bad for my bottom line. You can't talk about unexplored alternatives as though they have already failed! And don't give me some BS comparison to any authoritarian regime.

Also capitalism ≠ "free market". Capitalism is specifically about those who have money being able to buy everything to make more money because they own everything they can extract unfair moneys, like with icecream machine repair. Capitalism = capital (moneys "invested" in things and in the process getting ownership of) In the end you get something akin to a noble born in great wealth who gets more wealth because of their existing wealth.

To the OP: What made you post this? There has to be a reason, an explanation for all of it, right? Also, what system/method would you encourage?

It was extensively tested in the Soviet Union and its satellites, and the results weren't positive.
Unregulated capitalism obviously can be pretty terrible as well. Is that your point, that capitalism needs to be regulated and restricted so corporations don't get away with everything? Or are you a full-blown commie? It's not clear because your comment comes across as an incoherent rant, which is totally out of place here and which will presumably be locked tomorrow.

To encourage people to look for the issues of capitalism. As far as alternatives, I'm sure I could think of some, but implementing them, getting past those moneyed wealth interests, is a entirely different matter. But on a more basic level, capitalism need regulation to keep it from exploiting people and the environment for money too much. Even with no alternatives, it is always a bad idea to just let businesses do as they like with no checks to their increasing power.

Examples like this can remind you that even if you don't have all the answers, there are questions and problems that need solving. Not all technology is material, sometimes it can be social economical. Time we work on progressing that technology.
