If you're logged in, it shouldn't ask for anything.

Create a fictitious name.
There's no problem in using a fake name, they have no way to see if you're lying.
Problem solved.

Even harder is having a conversation in the comments because when someone replies, there's no link to the conversation thread, so it just gets buried and can be literally impossible ot find.. unless you feel like sifting for hours through comments to tell a person who replied to you they were wrong, or you really love their opinion, or anything like that.
Wow, you mean people actually read Youtube comment filth? I block it with browser extensions so I don't even need to see it. Learn something new every day though! :)
Actually sometimes the top comments are funny or relevant and they're worth a quick look, but other than that I find them pretty useless (ie. trying to ask something, follow a conversation...)

Well, judging by most comments I have seen on there, you need to insert a very hot chilli up your arse, just to help with the ludicrous anger trips.

Me too. I really like Magic Actions. You can block other elements like related videos, force Flash or HTML5 or perhaps one of my favourite, stop auto-play. Also, you can change background, I relaly like the dark theme as it's lighter on the eyes (just like grey GOG instead of white).

On the top of most Google pages, you can find a bell with a number overlay on it on the top bar. There, you'll find the discussion you were on along with the relevant comments as opposed to sifting through the page for hours. Viewing the conversation in full view (as in on a YouTube page) however is painful as the video has to load first then the comments, regretfully.

Just thought I'd mention this.
I write a strongly worded letter and mail it to youtube

Yeah, I use Youtube HD which lets you choose the resolution to prefer (without having to log in or have an account), as well as disabling auto-play etc.

There's a grey theme for GOG? Do you mean the store or the forums? I get grey forums but the store is white. I'd prefer either grey or dark grey/black for gaming sites.
To note I've seen quite a few youtubers move their comments to reddit...
