I preferred the old GOG which was smaller and more focused, the new GOG feels like it's trying to 'get with the times' by aiming at a decade ago.
And I preferred the old forums before the advent of the cult of GOG.
It's still a decent place though.

Celton88: Linux and Mac support is cool (I own neither, but had a mac in the past and could see myself with a Linux).

mistermumbles: What always gets me is that there are still a good few people - or more likely loud minority present on the forum - crying foul when there is no Mac or Linux version. Let's face it: if one of your primary PC uses is gaming Windows will remain the best option for the considerable future. It's a simple matter of compatibility. That's just a fact. Sure, the introduction of WINE was a certifiable boon to both Linux and Mac (once the latter switched to Intel CPUs) as you then have things like PlayOnLinux and Crossover/Wineskin or some rather incredible personal projects like paulthetall's porting kit. That said, there are plenty of games that won't work properly or not at all that way, especially if they look for certain hardware requirements or API calls which may be tough to redirect/emulate.
I haven't really noticed any negativity lately surrounding Linux versions or lack of them. Of course if there is a _native_ Linux version available elsewhere, it is unfortunate if it's not on GOG. I think it's okay to ask why it isn't here or say that the game will be bought when Linux version arrives. It's really the same thing as people saying "instabuy" or "wishlisted" or something like that.

I can't remember anyone complaining about why there are so few Wine-packaged games for Linux. Many Linux gamers do the Wine stuff themselves.

Of course if reading the word "Linux" annoys you then.. well I can't help with that.

The what now?
How are you feeling about...?

New releases especially LucasArts and WB - Absolutely ecstatic! I'm seeing games on GOG that I thought would never be DRM-free. It feels like pretty much every game that's been released in the last four months has gone on my wishlist or straight on my shelf.

An upcoming client - Confused and nervous. I was supposed to be a tester, yet the Mac version never seemed to materialize (at least to my knowledge) so that left me feeling kind of confused. That was more a matter of a lack of communication (very few emails were ever sent dealing with GOG Galaxy). The nervousness stems from the (hopefully baseless) fear of going basically... Steamish.

Borky website - Ambivalent. Eh, it works well enough 90% of the time.

Linux - Woooooo! Always glad to see options.

Support keeping super-busy - Hasn't caused a negative impact on me yet, so undecided I suppose.

Slow releases for patches - Irked. This one does bother me sometimes. Just an annoyance in the background. It makes me feel more frustrated than anything with the publishers rather than with GOG. It is especially irritating reading news releases on publisher and developer websites where they are all, "oh yeah, we will get that fixed right away o Steam-users! For everyone else, hahahah yeah, we'll get on that. Eventually. In a year or three. Maybe. Or we'll just go bankrupt before we get to fixing that for you."

Indie-ish movies - Pleasantly surprised! I really didn't expect to have anything to do with the movie section. Then, during one of the November/December sales I ended up picking up Dark Dungeons and a few of the Gamers movies. I watched them with the family when we were really, really bored. Everybody had a wonderful time! I definitely am going to keep checking out the movies as they are added.

The Witcher 3 - Saddened. I cannot run it on my machine, and it's not being made for the XBox 360 either, so I won't be able to play it for several years.

Regional pricing - I understand why they did it, and I think the compromise with store-credit is the best that could be expected. I'm not thrilled, but at least it's not atrocious. I am glad that they listened to the feedback of the forums seriously.

Site redesign - Bleh, not happy with the grey. The new front page is okay I guess. Kind of similar to quite a few other commercial websites. *shrug* Nothing to write home about. The News section is more buried than before, which is irritating.

Overall I am generally happy with GOG's current direction and look forward to the rest of 2015.

Wishbone: The what now?
All those people that are like "GOG can do no wrong" and upvote every topic that states that GOG is amazeballs.
You know, all those people that abide no criticism of GOG even when they go back on their original policies and statements.
I am very tired, but I think that might accurately convey the concept.

Ah, that. You really think that's gotten worse as of late? I think those have been around since the very beginning. Most GOGlodytes seem more reasonable than that though.

You know, these guys. ;)
its a mixed bag for me
happy that gog galaxy is being pushed
happy that community is actively working to get more games here
happy that old games do release every now and then

not happy with the rest of the things like movies , site design etc

Well they've definitely gotten worse since the really old days, but I suppose it's been fairly steady the last year or so.

I really need to re-watch that movie sometime because I don't remember that scene at all.
Hopefully I'll have forgotten the vine swinging scene of 4 in a couple of years.
So far I'm quite pleased with where GOG is going.
Change is necessary in order to grow as a business; and I like the changes I've witnessed so far.
There will always be those who oppose it, but as long as it can bring more publishers and more customers, I'm all for it.
Personally, I don't have any major issues with the design and the movies don't bother me.

There's never a bad time to rewatch the old Indy flicks. ;) Coincidentally, playing those Star Wars games has gotten me in the mood of rewatching the films. I already finished the original trilogy, and I'm currently working my way through the prequels. I haven't seen the latter at all since they originally came out in theaters so it's kind of nice to watch them again, thanks to copies from our local libraries. That acting though... it is just... well, still pretty subpar, but it's not like the first trilogy had any amazing acting either. *shrug*

Anyway, same thing happened with me replaying Indy in Atlantis. Only watched Raiders thus far, but I'm planning on also going through the other two again. I find it interesting that I actually much more enjoy the Indies over the Star Wars ones these days. The former just held up better in my eyes.

Regarding the Mac version of the alpha Galaxy client, it's been available for some time now :)
This might be a little biased as today we have "Batman", "Lego", and "Warner Bros. Games" listed across the front page, for the first time, but I think GOG is doing pretty good. The new layout isn't too bad after getting used to it, the movies aren't taking over the site as some feared, and they are continuing to bring us great DRM-Free games.

One thing that I find a little bit annoying, it seems many (older) games are updated for unknown reasons very often, I have actually deleted my backups for this reason, as they are never up to date anyway.

tfishell: Any GOGgers want to chime in?
Most of the complaints end up being due to GOG needing more staff. So let me point out that (once more) they are hiring.

I thought someone would have told you by now. The cult of GOG. Yeah, we all get together here on the forum every Friday night. We put on some Sabbath records, slip on various anthropomorphic costumes and do a circle jerk while reciting old tv theme song lyrics.
