On the older Game Shelf, GOG made it much more clear which version of the game the user was going to download. But for some reason with this newer version, it's very confusing and it doesn't immediately show all the available OS versions of the game.

I feel GOG is slowly losing touch with the community. There was a time when they posted like regular users. Now you only get a response in your thread if it's about an unanswered support ticket. Like they're so busy trying to become the DRM-Free Steam that they no longer want to be GOG anymore.

They really didn't have to do all that much. I think they took on too much and have overloaded themselves. :P

A ton of truth there. It's like their new corporate overlords were afraid they'd say too much and hurt the $ flow, so now they can only speak when they get committee approval. ;-)

But improving Support response time is much more important I think.

I think GOG could fix this by hiring more customer service people. A lot of complaints on the forum are due to long delays from customer support tickets.

It is in plural, so no wonder it is still open. They are looking for many QA testerS, god knows how many. 2? 10? 9999999?

GOG is doing fine, I have no problems with anything except the website bugs and especially missing update notifications are annoying.

Overall GOG is still the best place to buy games IMO.

To put it neatly, I've ignored the movies column entirely since its arrival. Why would I come to a gaming site to purview non-interactive media? Now if GOG struck a deal with a company and got something raunchy or otherwise not suitable for viewing in polite company...like Alexis Texas, but with a bit more class, less obnoxious moans, squeaks, and snorts, and no shots of the man's blowup face...that might change things. Just saying that might be one of the few things aside from MST3K that would get me to click in there.

As for the games, I've been riding just fine. I've got a backlog of well over 100 games now. But some rejections need better explanations than nothing at all or a paper thin excuse. I myself am a man of brutal honesty. If a game is too sleazy/offensive/against GOG's dog's religion, then go ahead and say it. But you also have to realize what is currently on the shelves, and realize there isn't much leeway to block. Oh, and more nude mods, of course.

Sitewise, I'm entirely understanding that in the wake of everything ,GOG is probably swamped for now. Try to tread water and I'll throw you a line of encouragement.

To add to my previous comment... I feel like GOG could do a little better with updating their games. Namely, 'Unepic' and perhaps 'Banished'? Not sure if that's up to current or not. I've seen a few games that are a bit behind. Not to be too harsh with criticism, I think GOG's doing a fantastic job and seems to be growing popularity and modernizing at a nice steady pace. Some of the games are in-between DRM and DRM-free though which tends to break multiplayer features or leaves a few things out of the game.

Where else can you get all these extras for games when you purchase them though?? That's pretty neat I think.

Sometimes that falls on GOG, sometimes that's the dev's or publisher's fault. In either case, not getting updates is unfortunate for sure.

The library expanding is great, movies no thanks.
chat is horrid, who ever decided enter + shift for a new sentence was a good idea, should have large batteries attached to their nipples.

It might be "heat of the moment", but seeing the Defcon situation I felt like bumping this (plus it will give others a chance to chime in).

Just for your information, the Defcon situation is an old one, as the problems with the game's DRM go all the way back to 2012, the year it was released.

I really hate the "new" design it makes finding games to buy a chore, thus i automatically buy less games on gog than i used to.

i do not care about the movie section at all.

i actually like that GoG alows for more indie titles to be on the platform it keeps the store a bit fresher (although some of the indie titles lack the quality to be called good game,s which is a shame considering the name of this platform.)

i am looking forward to galaxy maybe it will allow me to play divinity original sin?? :P

Some of the censoring and taking games out of the shelfs last year really pissed me off though

all in all i am a bit unhappy with the way GoG is going lately, but since their philosophy about DRM-Free games is still in effect they are the best we all got.

in conclusion as long as GoG stays drm-free i will most likely stay a costumer.
