tfishell: I think there are good number of GOGlodytes who would like to work there, but don't have the skills (myself included) or ability to move . I'm surprised the QA Tester position hasn't been filled yet, though, as generally people hop on that like wildfire. (Course if I were to get hired I'd want to be able to make actual useful changes for users, not just "fluff stuff".)
I was a bit tempted by that tech support position (I've been doing it for almost 10 years elsewhere) but I'm not sure if my English is good enough... and Warsaw is likely the last place in Europe where I would like to move :)
Overall I am very happy as well... They are still keeping the old games coming, which is the reason I am still here. Support taking over a month to update VERY simple requests is still bugging me, I need to get onto their backs again about it but other than that, I still love this site and still visit it every day!
Here's something from GOGland Happiness Demographics.
I'm in the majority group also.

Can't complain, not at all. I don't think that GOG neglect classic releases, I believe they try to get them as often as they can and that's what matters most to me. And while I don't love all those indie games I do welcome them, plus occasionally there's one I really want. The fact that they just signed another big publisher is fantastic, I'm happy that we're gonna get Galaxy (and am not bitching about its current state - I think it's a legitimate trade-off). I also appreciate their inclusion of movies. Sure, I'm not that happy with their current selection but I feel that it's the same as with the classic releases - it just takes a lot of time and effort to get the stuff people want most.

Also I can't complain about the website too much. I would appreciate some improvements (especially concerning the update flags) but I love the limited functionality of the forums. I appreciate the clean look and how the threads aren't flooded with thousands of embedded pics and videos which slow things down unnecessarily.

Enebias: For example, I'm thinking about giveaways for Humble Bundle/Steam keys while GOG has the same games on promo at that moment) and people who do not lose a single occasion to put something regarding that store in every thread, invevitably ingiting a certain kind of unpleasant discussion -balatantly on purpose. This is just detrimental for the community overall and has nothing to do with constructive criticism.
Granted, there are also GOG fanatics who act in an ideantical manner to those I call "Steam cultists", even arriving to some sort of "religious" statements, yet (at least in my perception) they are much fewer and less out of place here - though always unpleasant and also quite embarassing.
Most of the giveaways are Steam related etc - thats pretty much a fact and while i appreciate the wonderful people who do the giveaways, it does feel like its pushing people to use steam even if is it a giveaway. Are you talking about the one who posts on every release thread saying they already for the game on Steam? (i know of at least one who does it) or the one who keeps pushing Humble despite the fact they admit to not picky about where they buy games?. This ...is a GOG/DRM free forum.. not sure why anyone expected it not to be pro GOG
Should I be wearing a business suit for this? Screw it, I'm putting it on. Never get to wear the damn thing.

Ahem. So Warner Bros was a really strange addition. I'm glad they’re on board, but I'm still paranoid there’s a catch under the hood because they seem like the last company in the world who would consent to putting out games DRM-free.

I've liked the selection of modern Indi games and for those who were concerned GoG was moving away from old games, the huge recent additions like the LucasArts library should assuage any doubts. Don’t think much of the movies but maybe I’ll get into them eventually. Starting from that Adam West one, because Adam West is awesome.

Breja: - Galaxy- don't want it, don't care for it, makes me nervous about possible DRM in the future (yes, I am somehwat paranoid in that regard, we've established that already), don't like how it was (is?) included with some games without note and installed itself without warning
My experience with AVP definitely was hampered by its integration with Galaxy and I was not very happy with them over that. Gave me some trouble, but eventually I got it to play without going through the Galaxy stuff.

In general I am rather content with these guys. I like the Star Wars, I like the Warner Bros., I still want more games that are hard to find, DRMed elsewhere. Still, they're doing pretty well here. I kinda miss some of those Nordic games, but I bought the ones I wanted already.

Don't care for the movies as of yet. They don't work for or against me. Maybe that will change.

Redesign... Meh, I got used to it. Not fond of it, but used to it.

Community section could be better. Like seeing where I may have been downvoted (I swear I lost a point or two as of late), a list of my threads, etc.

Overall, I am pleased with the site and will probably depend on them for my future PC gaming needs.

yellowblanka: I'm interested in GoG for the classic games, I can (and do) buy AAA games just about anywhere else - usually cheaper.

Enebias: ...worst of all, the continuos Steam advertising and glorification. This makes me completely blind with rage...

tinyE: we (yes we, I was part of it, I'm not proud) were merciless to the poor guy. Ditto for anyone glorifying Steam.
^.^ ;)
About five months later and I think this is worth a bump. Anybody new want to chime in, anyone changed their opinion, etc.?
As far as games go, I'm happier than before : return of nordic, telltale, the witcher 3, and plenty of indies,... Particularly happy and hopeful about the publisher initiative. :)

But the problematic stuff needs some serious polish (ugh...) : Galaxy isn't even worth talking about and I still mourn my lost and dear account,..

Movies seems to be dead : good or bad news, that still needs to be determined.

Overall, I'm feeling the same : content, but not satisfied.

Well, that QA tester position you mentioned earlier is still vacant.... In fact, it's only part-time and temporary so it's REALLY not appealing for foreigners to make the move to Poland.

Anyway, for Poles looking for a job, it can be cool so let's bump this:
http://www.gog.com/work#qa_tester_temporary_position
I'll add a couple coppers: I really don't mind the direction of expanding into new areas (Galaxy client, new publishers, indie games, newer titles, movies, etc.) but I don't particularly like the new site design, the Chat 'functionality' (boy, is that a misnomer), the complete lack of indication of new patches in certain game forums (and no notifications for those games either), and the fact that redesigning/updating the forums breaks/nukes a bunch of old things we had.

Having said that, I can put up with the annoyances as long as the spice, er... games keep flowing. About the only thig that will really drive me away from here is if Galaxy becomes mandatory and/or they decide they're going to allow DRM on some or all of their games.
One thing I hate about the internet technology is its social integration aspect. How more and more tools attempt to integrate us in some social network, how this social networking becomes a basic expectation and selling point, etc. How fb/steam kids are trained to feel complete only if they can broadcast their lives minute by minute.

Well, gog was a bit the opposite, for me. It was the "disconnected" version of gaming. A forum at most. I liked that.

Gog is still kinda bound to that, as it's also a bit the drm culture and all, but still, I feel gog has understood that, marketing wise, both client capture and advertisement goes through community tightening and social medias, and thus tries to get as close to the steam model without being technically identified to it. I trust gog will keep "a way out" of it for the clients who really loathe this kind of aspect, but the main effort goes towards networking and its encouragement : galaxy pushed on us (even in its beta form), "friending", independant downloads buried under submenus, PMs turned to chat convos (full with skype-like online status contact sorting), galaxy's unescapable default gaming broadcast, and a series of "do mention us in your facebook/reddit/twitter" contests...

So, that's a general turn I dislike. It's mostly cosmetic, I can ignore it at the cost of a less convenient download system. Still, I have to say : Bleh. There I said it.

I haven't installed Galaxy so I'm curious what this is?

Well put, and that's kind of what I was trying to say but you did so much more eloquently. +1.
