WIN 10? Well,if those that use it have any.
I appreciate their surveillance/telemetry, they care enough to check up on everything their customers are doing. Now that's love.

The only positive thing I can think of is that most software and hardware will work right out of the box. That's a huge pro for most people.

It works fine. It isn't that different from Win 8, so if you were already familiar with that, the change isn't that big (unless you loved customizing your metro screen, then you're out of luck). If you ignore the metro screen and start menu and Microsoft account features (which is perfectly possible), it's more or less the same as previous Windows versions. It's supposed to support some games again that weren't supported on Win 8 anymore. That's all I can think of.

I love it, however I am using a program called "Umbrella" which gives it a Windows 7 wrapper, purely aesthetic. I have over 1000 games here and have yet to encounter any trouble playing them because of 10, contrary to what a lot of people told me I would when I switched.

As for the spyware. A) I think some people are a little paranoid and B) Even if it is true, I don't care. If someone is watching me, let them. I pity the poor guy who who has to monitor and log that crap. :P

Nope, Win 7 and new pc will be,yep you guessed it 10. I've been researching for a couple of days and have found some tweaks but also a lot of complaining about 10.

Then it will be a bigger change but you can get used to it if you choose to. The major difference is all that stuff made for touchscreen mobile devices, but it's already toned down a little compared to Win 8. For example, you have a start menu screen or a drop down (well, up, really) start menu that contains tiles like on Xbox Live, and personally I think they're rather ugly. But I chose to completely ignore them and just use the simple, text-based drop down (up) menu you get when you right-click on the bottom left corner instead of left clicking on it. There's also a new control panel and such, but the old one is still there, so I just put a shortcut of the old one in the taskbar and ignore the official Control Panel menu. Things like that. You're also asked to log into your Microsoft account when you set up the system for the first time, but there's an option to opt out of it, which I did. It might be a bit hidden, IIRC, but in that case you can google how to activate that option. Without logging into your Microsoft account, you can't use Microsoft's cloud storage or the app store, of course, but I don't really care about those anyway. So the way I use it now, it's not all that different from Win 7.

(Though admittedly I only use it on my laptop so far, not my main gaming rig. To be honest, on my desktop I still use 8.1 as long as possible and I will be a little sad, when I have to switch one day. But that's mostly because I really liked creating my own tiles for the metro screen, which is harder on Win 10, but something most people don't seem to care about, especially not when they come from older systems that didn't have the metro screen in the first place.)

Well, no games or game installs for two weeks as I figure out it's tricks to make it as simple as I can by tweaking most stuff off. Done the same with XP and Win7 but this might be a challenge from research done.
I don't hate Windows 10, so those are my nice words.

It's more that I dislike the current state of things, where when I install the OS I am getting asked all this stuff about 'sharing my location' and 'save your stuff on the Microsoft cloud' and 'link a Microsoft account' and etc. "But don't worry, it's all for the sake of convenience!!"

And then Cortana comes up and tells you she can make everything soooo much more convenient, like why even Google stuff when you can just ask Cortana? She can even recognize your voice!!

No thanks, I think being able to order Chinese food in less than 3 minutes is convenient enough. I mean, I'd say the way they ordered Chinese in that Windows 95 guide with Jennifer Aniston was convenient enough, but I won't complain about not having to use a Fax anymore.

Or a notebook/laptop with build in microphone. Also it comments on everything. I had to silence it, but still it uses up resources in the background.
I use it cause I'm not PC savvy enough to do otherwise.

I've seen people shit on basically every windows it seems like, then retroactively circlejerk to XP.

Many games will work the same. Some will require more tweaking / have more issues. Here are the results of my testing W10 (compared to W7):-

- W8 introduced a weird 30fps cap for No One Lives Forever. Early W10 builds removed that cap but then had constant stutter when moving the mouse (almost like VSync was broken "back-end" and the game had input issues running at +600fps. Later W10 builds improved this so the game now mostly plays normally, but it still stutters when using zooming / using a weapon scope. This can be fixed with dgVoodoo but that in turn can break keyboard / mouse input after an ALT-TAB. W7 still plays perfectly with zero compromises and only a fraction of the tweaking required.

- Maniac Mansion Deluxe threw up color corruption and oddly squashed the game into the top left 1/4 of the screen (as it did for several other 2000-2005 era flash games). W7 has no issues.

- Some games have many more issues running Exclusive Fullscreen vs W7. You may need to force Borderless Windowed.

- Sam & Max Season 1-3 require XP SP3 compatibility to be ticked to not crash. This wasn't needed for W7.

- Age of Mythology crashes if changing any settings inside the game (due to resolution change). You have to mess about with creating user.cfg in the startup folder. W7 works perfectly.

- Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines crashes with a DX5 error, but can be fixed by renaming from comandos.exe to commandos.exe (2x m's) to bypass enforced compatibility issues.

- DirectPlay has been deprecated, ie, you need to install it manually via Control Panel -> Programs & Features -> Turn Windows Features On / Off -> Legacy Components. This is needed for several games like Age of Empires, Commandos:BEL, Diablo 2, etc.

^ I gave W10 a fair shot and tested over +250 older games on it, I installed Classic Start Menu to make it look like W7, and I didn't mind some of the extra work involved in tweaking some to run. But my feelings towards it in general was that it's the least pleasant Windows I've ever used, it didn't (and probably never will) actually feel like 'my own PC' anymore the same way MS-DOS 2.0 through to W7 did due to MS's new Software As A Service direction, (ie, "the user is the product"). About the only "nice words" I can say is that so far, Microsoft hasn't removed support for DX5-9 API games - something forced updates and "rolling releases" gives them the capability to do 5-10 years down the line that would leave many retro-gamers royally screwed.

Best of luck if you can get W10 to work for you, but expect quite a bit more tweaking for many older games than on W7, some games sold here on GOG are "supported for W7-8 but not W10" for a reason, and in case it doesn't work out, both Coffee Lake & Ryzen CPU's & chipsets do actually work on W7 (despite MS's fear-mongering to the contrary). Not for every chipset / motherboard, but I made a detailed post here in the past that explains everything on the subject should you need to "downgrade".

A nagging pc, but I did notice some fixes for this and at the time it didn't worry me because I don't have a microphone nor would I get one.Surely these bugs have been complained to MS?
