The Evil Within games are so good. Just finished both and they were worth every penny. I want more.

mystichindu: Anyone here know of any good horror games on here?
I seen some and have played them before like silent hill 4 , Amnesia, and Visage. But i am wondering if there are some lesser known or hidden horror games on here that I may have missed. I dont see a way to filter these kind of games on here like on Steam. So im hoping someone can list a few horror games that are worth checking out

Glaucos: You can search via the "Horror" tag:

https://www.gog.com/games?search=Horror&page=1&sort=popularity
It's not clear if the OP is looking for horror (subject matter) or survival horror (genre) games.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: The Corpse Party games are all good horror games, except for one that is called "Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash," which is much more of a comedy game than a horror (but the others are all full horror, and not at all comedy).

A new & improved version just came out yesterday of the first Corpse Party game.

Dead Space is also a good horror game, if you like games where the main challenge is trying to cope with always having very scarce amounts of ammo that you need to fight the monsters.

Prey is also a good horror game.
Really? You found ammo scarce in Dead Space? I almost never wanted for ammo going through it. My biggest problem was monster closets. In fact, Doom 3 and Dead Space felt very much a like to me, not that they play anything alike.

Sanitarium
System Shock 2
BioShock
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl
Metro 2033 & Metro: Last Light

Some titles that aren't entirely "horror" but feature some sections or locations that can be (quite) unsettling, especially for people that haven't played them before:

Diablo (in particular the "Catacombs" levels 5-8)
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (Ocean House Hotel, Abandoned Hospital, 609 King's Way, Grout's Mansion)
Thief (Bonehoard, The Haunted Cathedral, Maw of Chaos)
Thief 3: Deadly Shadows (Shalebridge Cradle, Abysmal Gale)
Batman: Arkham Asylum (The Scarecrow bits)
Return to Castle Wolfenstein & Bloodrayne (later parts when the occult science aspects kick into gear)
Crysis (traversing the Ceph structure during "Core")
Painkiller (Asylum, Town)

KosmicznaPluskwa: It's still in development and I haven't seen anyone list it yet but I really, really recommend World of Horror, it's excellent.
Otherwise I second SOMA and Darkwood recommendations :)
Dear gog staffer,
Please forward let the bizdev people know that they should release Lost in Vivo this Halloween! IIRC, the dev sent it in for approval, but never heard back. I played it and it's one of the best horror games to come out in recent years! (And I ought to know about good horror games, because Darkwood and SOMA are my #1 and #8 most played games on gog respectively) Please make it happen!
The Penumbra games are also worth a look if you like Amnesia, since they were made by Frictional before the latter and are in a similar style.

There's also The Legacy: Realm of Terror. This one is older. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but reviews and ratings are mostly positive, at least.

Watched some reviews and it seems interesting, I like the retro vibe and how it references Silent Hill's idea of horror; my area of work is not very close with bizdev curation but I'll try to poke them about it ;o

Hope it arrive soon, it's a shame the develeper didn't recived a reply back then, when the gane was released, he wanted to publish it here!
I can't believe no one mentioned Lone Survivor yet. Basically Silent Hill in 2D.

The horror aspect gradually goes down in the subsequent games for the sake of action when it comes to Dead Space. You should also always play them on the hardest difficulty. It makes enemies tougher and reduces the amount of stuff you get from drops (ammo, credits). The ammo situation depends mostly on how accurate you are. If you hit most of your shots you can usually just barely keep up with the consumption.

But the only Dead Space I would actually call horror would be the first game.

I like horror for the atmosphere (/story), the shooting is secondary. So I play always survival horror on the easiest setting.
