When using the PC controls:

1. Can I place a random marker on the map? I want to do that , then go there for maybe a surprise!

2. How do I whistle to call a machine or a mount.

1: Yes. I think it's right-click. You can place one marker - and the map will followup by providing directions to it via the road system, like for a quest (I think this can be toggles on and off in options).

2: At the bottom-left is a "scroll-wheel" of things like health potions, traps, etc. One of them as an "Exclamation Point". Scroll to make that the one with focus, then hit the key for that "scroll-wheel" (I don't recall the default key - I changed mine to PgUp). This is a learned skill, so if you haven't learned it, it probably won't appear there.
