For existing owners of Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4, PC) and/or Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition (PS4, PS5, PC): you can upgrade to the digital version of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for $9.99 on both PlayStation 5 console and on PC (via Steam or Epic Game Store)...this includes fans who added the game to their libraries during PlayStation’s Play At Home initiative...

LurkerLito: It sounds like GoG buyers aren't considered owners of the game then?
Or like usual sites and companies largely ignore G.O.G for one reason or another in announcing things .. but I can easily see G.o.g users not getting the upgrade path till later down the line if at all
We have yet to see recent Sony titles like Ghost of Tsushima, Ratchet & Clank and Sackboy. If they update Horizon on GOG to be the remastered edition, they would surely have to release those other games too?.
If they "have" to update or "have" to add other games? This is speculations because i am not sure i can find any of such law on any given country. Even if there is a law, it is rarely specific and it may only involve something like "not to cause a monopoly", something like this. But in fact, i would say, nowadays if a publisher is not able to publish on Vapor they are pretty much doomed, so they should suckle their Vapor even harder than ever before, it will keep them alive and financially healthy. Guess nearly all humans are somewhat on drugs, it can not be helped.

There are some publishers who happen to be unable to publish on the "major database", they was very bold and may deserve my full purchasing price (on the most expensive location world wide) if the stuff is any good, so Amatsutsumi and some other stuff i paid the hard way.

Tokyo_Bunny_8990: Probably a new game fully priced like the Last of Us Part 1.
doubt it. tlou 1 was remastered for the pc and ps5 release. horizon zero dawn is already on those platforms though. i don't think a priced remaster is justifiable for it.
I expect the upgrade to cause problems because from what I read it comes with everyone's favorite strategy to force you to use a PSN account. If that is true then I don't see how this can even end here since its DRM for sure. Still Horizon if I remember correctly was released close to the steam release and there are lots of comments on it so I assume it sold probably the best from all Sony games here so they surely would gain from the update being here but oh well. In general I don't think upgrade is needed on such recent game.

That hasn't been officially stated yet.
Don't see the problem though, ya'll got a billion gamestore accounts anyway, PSN is just one more.
I guess it allows SONY to inflate their numbers for their investors (those guys will believe anything
with large numbers).
Release date for this is supposedly Oct. 31st (source: Gamestar)
PSN account will be required, similarly to God of War: Ragnarok.

Yeah saw that this afternoon. Well at least we know why GoG isn't included. It should also pretty much guarantee that GoG will not get any more Sony releases. Even the ones that are out that still don't have the requirement like Ratchet and Clank A Rift Apart, I would guess Sony will update them to include it at some point.
I guess Sony's going to milk re-releases for as long as it works. They have enough popular IPs to make up for disasters like Concord.
However, Sony is not making lot of fans by the PSN requirement, on the biggest platform of course, so the last word has not been spoken yet.

I mean, many Steam gamers almost want to rule the "only on this place" in a almost fanatic way, yet, with the third party accounts they pretty much are going to leave their "natural environment" and in theory they could as well buy a game on any of the third party accounts they have been "forced to use". Just as i said, not sure it will be a good choice for Sony, as i think, for many gamers it is worse than Denuvo.

Sony does not care, this is certain, because for a long time i got in mind "why Sony is allowing Ubisoft and others to force third party-account requirements inside a closed PSN environment" which already got an account attached (the PSN). Nowadays it is clear to me that the industry is kinda helping themself out, kinda like "one hand washes the other", in order to make sure a gamer is pretty much "locked down" on as many accounts as possible and will always get... almost free will... a forced free will... the special stuff on all of those platforms or at least being able to notice those other platforms as an unavoidable attachment.

Looking at this background, it appears almost hilarious if many hardcore Vapor users stick to the "Steam only rule"; if in theory... if they would buy something on GoG as well, it is just one more account, out of probably a dozen accounts at some point.

I tell ya... to me it is a big luxury if i can play offline DRM free games without any "open account"... at any given place or system, without any connection... very soothing and relaxing, a true luxury somehow. I simply feel "i am the chief of my game and this is my game no one is gonna shut down or take away...".

Hahaha! Thats fun, it really smells like Sony but Sony is not the only "witty company" here... to be fair:

Ahhh! Now i know why a 1600 USD phone got only 8 GB RAM... alright!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKm5-jUTRMM

But why do offline-games need several accounts at once? I am sure there is a good explanation somewhere...

I keep having the feeling that these Sony mega productions are great marketing and they sell a lot, obviously, but not as much as Sony expects them to sell, so they keep remastering them every few years to try and squeeze a bunch more dollars without as much expendiure.

But I suppose that strategy won't hold forever, and they'll eventually have to find a way to make an exclusive blockbuster that ins't SO expensive and is able to sell enough for their absurd expectations. Which shouldn't be so hard, since Nintendo has been doing it for so long, though Nintendo has left the cutting edge hardware market a long, long time ago, unlike Sony, who is doubling down on theirs.
Nah, Nintendo simply got a huge fanbase which gladly is buying almost anything someone is throwing at them in near countless versions, especially Zelda and Mario stuff.

However, the only stuff i am interested into is the Xenoblade Chronicles series... so few games that it is barely worth it buying the console, but perhaps a Switch 2 is finally a fair deal to me, as i may get a good bunch of those series available using it.

Just a heads up, This game has been delisted from Epic Games Store. Probably it is due to the remaster, but it is quite possible that all the non-remastered versions will be removed from stores in the near future, so if you are interested in the game here you might want to pick it up sooner rather than later.

They already did it on Steam - it is now a bundle with the original game plus the upgrade in one for the same price. On Epic they added the remastered as separate entry for now but they must add the upgrade itself too somehow - I assume there is store limitation how to do it.
This is not a big deal. Unlike all your other Gamestores you will never have to use this one, create and forget.
The big stink came from Helldivers 2 which didn't have the requirement when Sony started selling the game,
and then when they added it they screwed players in 177 (out of 200ish) countries .
