Silver_Dawn: They had some great franchises on PS3 that I'd love to play again. A remastered trilogy collection of killzone, Resistance, or God of War would be amazing. I definitely prefer the old God of Wars to the new ones. Maybe infamous. Doubt it's any of those though. That would require some effort. Easier to "remaster" a recent game like Last of Us 2 which got a "remaster" less than 4 years after its initial launch...
Completely agree. Bringing back Killzone would be nice since Sony could have its own FPS especially now that CoD is under Microsoft (although likely coming to PS because Microsoft may be leaving consoles entirely) and agree that OG God of War is superior to new God of War. Combat camera is superior, more variety of weapons, was a trend setter in the PS3 era while new God of War is arguably a trend follower, etc.
BreOl72: But this thread is not about "Horizon Forbidden West", so...
And the numbers above are even more impressive, if you consider that "
Bloodborne" got released in March 2015, but
"Horizon Zero Dawn" got only relased in February 2017. That means,
"Bloodborne" had two full years more, to rack up sale numbers...and it still only sold about a third of what "HZD" sold. Oh, and btw: "Horizon Forbidden West" got only released in February 2022...give it a few more years. Edit: btw...
While we don't know how many copies "Bloodborne" has sold in the last two and a half years since February 2022, we know
(thanks to your post) that "
Horizon Forbidden West" has sold 8.4 million, in that same two and a half years. And we also know that -
to sell less than that (7.46 million), "Bloodborne" needed seven full years. So - thanks for making my point, I guess?
Forbidden West already outpaced Zero Dawn in sales in its first year (8.4M vs 7.6M) so its already doing well. Majority of sales is often done in the first couple of weeks though so I dont see FW reaching 24M numbers unless it gets a PC release.
bluethief: Rumour going around that they're also remastering Days Gone...
The rumor is also this remaster is "boring" and gaming critics hate Days Gone for some reason so I can see this being the case. Despite rave reviews from fans and renewed interest due to it being given away on PS Plus and the PC release, journalists refuse to give it another shake and adamantly defend their 70 rating for it.
There has been some discussion about Days and Sony may be curious regarding how popular the franchise actually is. A remaster could allow them to gauge how many people are willing to purchase the game and therefore justfiy a sequel or let the IP die. Unless they add content or change things up though, Days is already a pretty beautiful game after its been patched so a remaster is wasted.
