...but the FIG-Campaign for Consortium just revealed how few:
466,949
Source: https://www.fig.co/campaigns/consortium-the-tower/invest
Having seen this incredibly low number I even begin to understand why SEGA isn´t willing to bring a sequal.
Personally, I also just got AlphaProtocol from a GamingMagazineDVD...

Oh, and don´t forget to vote:

Such a shame, really. After I was burned by the horrible ending of Mass Effect 3 (not trying to start a war, just stating the facts), I was desperate for something similar to scratch my itch and Alpha Protocol delivered in a big, bad way. I'd play a sequel in a heartbeat. Alas, that certainly doesn't seem likely given those numbers. Thanks for sharing!
Meh, AP was okay. Not good, not great, just okay. Frankly, it got so boring that I never actually finished it, despite starting it multiple times.
Keep in mind though, that "back then" if a game did one million copies it was a huge hit. There were probably only like 2 or 3 games on the market that would get over 2 mil and those were the smash hits. (Disclaimer - I'm pulling these numbers out of my ass but if I remember from the early '00s hitting a million copies was a HUGE deal).

Now, I'm sure it's like "Don't even make that game if you aren't talking X million copies sold week one."

As the industry gets bigger and bigger with larger bugets and massive companies to support, the numbers needed for a game to be "viable" get really large, really quickly.

Alpha Protocol was released in 2010, so even then less than half a million copies wasn't a particularly big deal. And the number doesn't necessarily reveal how many of those copies were bought at full price or at a 75%-80% discount on some Steam sale (or even a bundle).

not really
doom 1 and II each sold around 2 to 4 million and those were huge numbers
nowadays that would mean they under performed

the 400 k ap shifted is decent not stellar but decent
Bummer...I still have my boxed dvd version.

I really liked it but I got lucky and went the skills route that apparently works the best (Pistols & something...).

Voted for the wishlist long ago & would buy it here again for sure...though I dunno if I'd actually *play* it again anytime soon.
I loved Alpha Protocol. It was fun and different and I was hooked all the way through. But it's not exactly new for me to be big fan of something most people dislike.
Sounds like decent number to me.
Certainly for game that released in bad state and was always considered very buggy.
I haven't played it yet but I have the GamersGate version of it. You know, the one with extra misogyny.

That version is supposed to be DRM-free too. Apparently they are not selling it anymore though, oh well.

That was kind of my point LOL - I'm way too wordy at times! ;)

Pistols and Stealth = OP

Bigs: Pistols and Stealth = OP
Absolutely! I went all "James Bond" with this one - pistols, stealth and I think there were even a smattering of "face" (charisma) skills that I took as well.
That doesn't seem too bad, but yeah, probably like Ixamyakxim suggested, it's never enough for big publishers: "Don't [bother] if you aren't talking X million copies sold week one." That's probably one of the reasons GOG has such a hard time with big publishers; I imagine only a handful of games here have even sold over 1 million copies.

Cool joke about this terrible thing---always read GamersGate when somebody was talking about that stuff as well!

Well, how far did you got? AP is a perfect example how to build up tension up to the final chapter, but in return it´s not that brilliant in the first chapter.
