It comes down to 3 things, Blackbird Interactive, Gearbox and DRM. Blackbird made Deserts of Kharak which is a game i really dislike and i don't think it's a good Homeworld game, Gearbox is a terrible publisher who love DRM and Denuvo in their games and that's two things which ruins a game for me.

That's also the fact that in todays climate you cannot in 99% of the cases make a game in an old franchise that honors the mechanics and soul of the older installments without making modernizations and dumbing down the core of the games they are based on atleast in a sequel, mixed attempts of sucesses has been made in remasters though.

I might be wrong though and it will against all expectations revitalize the IP but my expactions are low.

oke, well those are certainly points to consider.

For me i did enjoy watching the video to hear and see about the background, the problems they faced when realizing this prodict and the whole story behind the companies

Hmm yes you might be right, i was lost in thought about the future of the franchise rather than the history.

Homeworld is one of my favorite franchises and I can't wait for 3. Is the video covering events between 2 and 3 in the setting or just a discussion of RL events leading to the upcoming game?
I didn't like Homeworld 2 quite as much as 1, but it still had some of the magic.

Will need to actually get around to Deserts of Karak.

It is a short informative interview with the CEO of blackbird entertainment former CEO of Relic that talks about how HW 1 came into being. He adresses the start, some of the technical challenges hopes and dreams. Both 2 and 3 are mentioned but nothing more then notions

One was just so good. Plus that salvage thing was hilarious and I could not stop capturing them.

Nice Star Wolves avatar BTW.

This.
Homeworld 2 was one of the biggest disappointments I've ever had with games.
Take something I really liked and then completely change the gameplay to the opposite of what it was before, while keeping the same outward appearance as if it's some kind of software zombie wearing the skin of a fallen friend.

It was also a contributing factor to my now complete refusal to participate in any form of early access or pre-orders.
I just don't trust things any more.
