I've been listening to a lot of golden age classics lately. That's pretty much my favourite time and what I grew up on. I can never get tired of Kool G Rap, Large Professor, Wu-Tang Clan, Rakim, EPMD, Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions, Brand Nubian, Ultramagnetic MCs, Run-DMC.

With the recent passing of MF DOOM...I couldn't help but think of KMD and it made me go back to revisit his discography again. I remember the days when MF DOOM and MF GRIMM were cool and released that Special Herbs + Spices Vol. 1. Man I miss those days. When I heard Operation: Doomsday for the first time, I was shocked that it was Zev Love X. That album is a classic to me. I listened to the entire Mm...Food album yesterday. It's still fire. Another classic. Gonna listen to Madvillainy again today. I can't believe DOOM is gone. CZARFACE Meets Metal Face is next on my playlist. Rest in Peace.

Yeah, Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde is such a great album. As is '93 Til Infinity.

A more recent but lesser known album that is an all time favorite of mine is Giant Panda's Fly School Reunion (2005).

There's also the rare Mexican road trip EP they did as Bloquera with People Under The Stairs' Thes One. I've posted this track here before, but I just love the Fiesta video. XD

Time to get a bit silly, just for the fun of it. After I've decided to play through Gothic 2 last month, I accidentally discovered that "Gothic Rap" is a thing, at least in the German, Polish and Russian Gothic bubbles and Machinima communities. Seems like all the tough guy posing, obsession with gold and substance abuse in the game, along with a wealth of unique voiceovers and sound samples lend themselves as great source material for hip hop songs and videos. XD
