Hello,

i've got just a little hint for Fire TV users...
I'm using my Fire TV (2017 Edition, with ethernet and card slot) for gaming.
At the moment there are about 30 gig of games on it, mostly dos games but some of my old psx games as well.
The large amount of memory usage comes from the iso files lots of games need.

I'm using the app "MagicDosbox" which must be sideloaded. The app is amazing, and very very easy to configure and to handle. You can set the config for each game and use a packshot as icon.
For adventures i use the ScummVM App, which must be sideloaded as well.
I used a Raspberry Pi ("Retropie") before, but the MagicDosbox/Fire TV combination is much faster and better to handle.
There is a standard config for games, which worked well for nearly every game i use. Amazing stuff, and the programmer of the app is very busy on it and answers very fast on his site.

happy easter

What is a FireTV and how do you connect a mouse to it? Really don't understand this need to play games on a telly, resolution is crap, refresh is crap, and there are reasons office workers sit or stand at a station, it's to avoid back pains and RSI, sitting on a couch cannot be good for posture.
"Tele" = telly (TV set for you Americans)? My knowledge of German is rather rudimentary, I am afraid.

You know you can also connect your mobile to a large screen, eg a telly. Of course they come with ARM processors but so do most of those TV boxes. That means running anything not made for those processors demands an emulator.

FireTV is an Amazon plug-in thingy. Content delivery or somesuch, maybe more useful for a pre-Smart set? Not completely sure - we're in the stone ages here with just an antenna.

For the other points, really depends on one setup / game to the next. I played Crysis on our big screen TV and it worked fine, ditto M&B:W.

And yet - generations of gamers started their career by playing games on consoles, which were attached to a TV.

Yesterday i found a way to emulate the Roland MT-32 Soundboard on the MagicDosbox App.... The Sound now is amazing in most games :-).
