is it easy to search, or a stab in teh dark?

GamezRanker has possibly the most negative rep with over -2800, which is a shame as he is quite a helpful chap who tries his best to be nice to people.

Highest rep users that I know of are HypersomniacLive with 4922 and Grargar with 4838.

Isn't there someone who has 7k? I'm almost certain I'm remembering it right.

EDIT: I searched around a bit, but I couldn't find anything. By the way, tfishell is currently at 5038.

Tauto, Kleetus and the NES army comes to mind, in the negative spectrum i might add. Grargar and Hypersomniac are some of the heavyweights in the other spectrum :). Cheers

GOG has an inverted system where the posts that are lowest rep'd are the best and funniest, while those highest rated are boring. Very similar to Reddit where the highest upvoted comments are the most milquetoast, bland middle-of-the-road shit imaginable, but anything slightly interesting is downvoted into invisibility.

"Highest rep'd user" would be a synonym for "least frequently truth-telling user."

For example, none of them would have dared to make any posts about how GOG lied to the public about "many messages from gamers" in the Devotion debacle.

Because if they did tell that much truth, then they would have lost massive amounts of rep.

Ditto for any other controversial issue. They certainly never would have raised a peep about GOG customers getting treated like second-class citizens via being given Achievement-less games whereas the same games on Steam have them, or else they would have been likewise downrepped to all Hell for having told that much truth and took a stand for great justice.

On the contrary: they might have even unjustly "earned" massive amount of reps for defending the evil acts of devs treating GOG customers like second-class citizens by leaving out Achievements, as such diabolical posts are usually "High Rated."

Ergo, "highest rep'd user" is badge of shame, not honor. It means the user would only ever say non-controversial things, which inevitably also means that they would have refrained from telling the truth and standing up for what is good & noble.

Stab in the dark. Rep is a broken system and mostly irrelevant, except for blocking you from attaching things to your posts or allowing links in them.

I think the resident forum cat person holds the title currently (on the positive side of things), though I could be wrong. He's most likely among the top 5, even so.

Why involve morality in numbers? The dwarven engineer inside of me cringes :P.

Let's just stay the person with the highest rep most certainly is a constantly active user that has very little if any deviation from the collective consciousness/gestalt of the forum.

Oh. Well, I stand corrected. All hail the king! :P

There are whole threads, some running into triple digits of pages, full of high rated posts that harshly criticise GOG. And I assure you, no one cares about rep here, certainly not so much that they'd refrain from saying something for fear of downvotes. The highest rated users are usually the ones who have been here the longest and are most active and those people know full well how broken the rep system is and they have a real reputation on the forum, not some silly points. You're just salty because you tend to get downvoted for acting like jerk, which you're doing right now again - insulting people, some well respected community members, for no reason.

Here, have a thread demanding GOG release devotion, full of high rated posts, many from users with four digit rep.

Yes, DeMignon is the one I was thinking of when I mentioned that I seemed to remember somebody at around 7k.

Give me half a year. With my 4 or 5 -Rep every day by bots I will overtake him soon enough as it seems...

It makes one wonder - is the GOG forum rep stored as a 16-bit number? Or a 4 character-long string?

Will the forum implode when someone reaches 65536? 10000?

I plan to live long enough to find out! Hopefully :P. It's one of the great mysteries of the universe, no doubt.

Edit: To all nearby ships, be advised: this thread has been marked for down-repping by the Tyranid swarm. Beware and remember: the Emperor protects!
