thats correct, i also know a little german, so better be carefull cause sometimes english words and also dutch words can have a complete differnt meaning in other languages.
i believe one word that would be suitable is the word that sound almost same in dutch:
Geschenk (cadeau (sounds like a french word, nowadays its also write like this: kado))
only we dont use capital letters for almost every words so it would be written as; geschenk, unless used as the first word in a line , then it would be used with a capital G.
Dutch sounds simple and easy to learn, but if you truly want to learn all possibilities of it, then you are up to a suprise.
I am not talking about dialect or slang cause even i cant understand dutch who speak Fries for example (fries is a language from Friesland, and does not mean fries as in french fries)
I believe english is the easies to learn and master completely if you take the time for it compared to any other language, it has understandable words , while many languages sound garbled or reversed.
