He only created this thread 12 hours ago -- which was mid-afternoon for him (assuming he's actually in Oman), and it's now the middle of the night. He probably poked around a bit, decided to introduce himself, then carried on with his real life. Give him some time. I'm sure he'll check back in a day or three; after all, not everyone hangs out here all the time like a lot of us do. =)

But I think that was just the gender-neutral guys, used sort of like y'all (but not as Southern-U.S.) or folks (but not as, erm, "folksy). If he'd said "Hey, 'sup bros!", it would be a different story, but I don't think he meant to exclude anyone.
Oh, I'm aware of that.^^

I don't really mind, but there are some girls out there who are super sensitive about this kind of stuff and prone to throw a tantrum. I just didn't want him to get in trouble I guess.

I think girls is the right word. Showing that kind of behaviour is testament to a certain lack of maturity.

Plus, personally, being called woman makes me feel kinda old.^^

Well, that's a new one on me. I've heard of women not wanting to be called "ma'am"/"madam" because it makes them feel old, but not that. Then again, the German word for woman might have connotations I'm not aware of that the English word doesn't. Though If someone is simply using "woman" as a form of address -- as in, "Hey, woman, how are you?", then that is absolutely weird and you should avoid that person. =D
