Hunh?

All my reply notifications have disappeared. (They used to disappear when my account was dormant for a week, now they never appear.) Which makes the forum that little bit less user-friendly; after all, who wants to carry on a conversation with people who have been polite enough to reply to some post of mine? /sarc

Thanks. I had to use this as I posted the question 'what nonsense is this?' in a spam-thread and someone replied to me before the thread got deleted. I couldn't read the answer (if I didn't there wouldn't remain a permanent dot), but the answer was probably 'spam'.

I tried the solution in the opening post but it did not work. I still have "Forum replies" marked.

It will disappear in a month as I have had the problem many times and just waited it out as some of these fixes do not work.

I have this problem again since September which is more than a month. It was already there back in June/July but then disappeared in August just come back a few weeks later.

I tried that already. Doesn't work too. The "Forum replies" part still keeps being marked.

The solution from OP post works fine, but for some reason I get this "forum reply bug" from yesterday over and over, and even if force-cleared throught a console each new forum reply just bring that bug again. In other words I can see forum replies, but the purple dot is not going away after I read them or hover my mouse cursor over them.

I have the latest Opera (CTRL+Shift+I for console), incognito mode under Windows 7 (x64). I tried removing all history, this includes cookies, from the beginning of time and PC restart.

Have anyone met such an issue before? Is it curable? Is it contagious?

I actually had the same thing happen to me yesterday too. So it obviously is contagious. Everyone run for cover and beware the purple dot.

Tried it again today and no dot so far. Also on Opera. Let's see it comes back like the measles....

I hope we don't have to go into quarantine because of this. I don't even know how to handle two concurrent quarantines.

It's happened to me before, almost always during big sales, so my guess is that it will fix itself when the sale ends, if not earlier.

Thank you all for replies, I hope it will fix itself somehow. It's the first time I get this.
I forget to add that internal adblocker is also turned on in Opera, this potentially might have something to do with the bug.

Read it and gone as it should be. I also use adblock.
