Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice has been updated to include VR support on GOG.COM. Owners of the main game can find it as a separate entry in their library, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice VR.

Since its release, Hellblade has amassed an impressive amount of accolades and praise from players and critics alike. It's well deserved too - this is easily one of the most immersive, emotionally affecting games to come out in recent years. Now you have the chance to experience Senua's chilling journey in VR, provided you have the right equipment ( = nerves of steel and an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift kit).

ah, finally logged in : took me 40 clicks on captcha to get in :D

anyway i am in, i noticed this topic about VR and i googled, VR is not quite what they expected it to be at this time ,
It all depends ofcourse on what you search for in using google

if you type: vr success or failure

you will get sort of balanced results, if you search with postive words, the results tend to be more positive, personally i think its a meh.

Scientist are not sure how it will affect children, they also say the brain is complex and tehre are way too many topics on this to get a good result : is it bad or not?

I wont use VR, dont use 3d and other experiences, cause i want to keep my brain in good condition.

Well wow. I love my Rift, not sure I'm going to like Senua... But I'll give it a try.

For those that don't enjoy VR, or think it's a joke, you haven't sat down and tried it.

But I've got to say, the current VR tech is lacking. Movement, is an issue. There's a flight sim I tried. And it just about got me to throw up. I've never get motion sick, but I was spinning, and well...

There was this Crypt demo game... things like creatures jumping out... crap! floor falling apart. I remember turning, and creature jumped out at me, and I liked jumped up in the air. Scared the crap out of me, unlike any 2D game I've every played.

I have the Star Trek game on Steam. As a Trekker sitting on the bridge of the Original Enterprise... I was amazed at how small the bridge was!

There are a couple of shooting games that I find just a lot of fun to play.

That all being said, the cost of the hardware is the biggest problem. And headaches. I can't play for more than an hour or so... Any longer and I get splitting headaches... But for that hour....

Wow even something as simple as Google Earth is amazing on my Oculus Rift.

I loved the multi directional trackpad in Player 1. Something like that I think would help with some issues...

Fallout 4 VR, is a game I've yet to upgrade to. But I'm not sure I want to, given the headaches I get from my Rift.

Oh did I mention the dinosaur that almost ate me! Yeah, it was amazing.

Hell I enjoy the "house" with the coy fish pond, just watching the fish...

But headaches aside, I have a GTX 1080ti video card, the rift, plus controllers. Not to mention my i7 PC. All total well over $2000 in just equipment alone, just so I could sit on the bridge of the Enterprise...

And to me, it was worth every single penny....
nice great release! Might actually convince me to finally buy some VR gear (pc hardware sufficient so only a rift or vive lacking)

Oddeus: Hey, where´s the discount? 75% preferably, thank you.
I wouldn't say no to that...
I don't have a VR but who knows. It's good that at least we get the same deal as others on Steam. Yay for Ninja Theory. Too bad they are now owned by MS and probably won't release anything new here, but I'm glad I've got Hellblade.

educate me plskpls hashtag #petalwink

isnt ori an' blind stuffs published by micro?
taht is here rite
is thar diff'rence?

xplain x
Ori is published by THQ Nordic on GOG, not Microsoft. Mark of the Ninja, another Microsoft Studios game, is on GOG because Klei self-publishes it in here, and the same with Dust: An Elysian Tale -- Microsoft Studios game self-published by Humble Hearts on GOG.

Microsoft has no publishing deals with GOG, sadly, which means we'll probably never have DRM-free GOG versions of Hellbender and Outwars. And unless a dev self-publishes their game on GOG (or a different publisher gets the rights to publish on GOG, like what happened with Ori), chances are next to none we'll see Microsoft-published games in here.
Thanks? I mean - wthout VR equipment I guess there won't be any advantages at all to the original game? So I will probably hide this in my library now until I bought a VR set which probably will be never. But still thanks.

Getting this game to run in VR meant it required a constant framerate of 90 on two separate displays (one for each eye). In other words, a lot of optimation was required, which incidentally also benefits screen players!

So far so good but does it even run without VR equipment?
No, its two different builds, for whatever reason. But as I understand things, the optimization wasn't VR specific and was applied to the screen build as well.
By Oculus do they mean the actual device, or the "Oculus" features of Gear VR?

I have a Gear VR and am considering an OSVR HMD to tinker with, but they're going to need to streamline a commercial unit that isn't based on something I already own (such as my Note 8) to sell me a thousand dollar headset that isn't even a slim (like the portable movie theater headsets from years ago that were smaller than ski goggles and pretty light) AR/VR Hybrid device for both PC and Android use where I could see it as being worth shelling out four figures to purchase.

So either your assumption is wrong or the update for the screen build hasn't arrived at GOG yet. - latest build is still from 09/2017.
