Funny you say that.

I was going to note that, if the participants in this thread skewed younger the most common answer would probably be "chronic compulsive masturbation."

It's a real disease, people!

I know.

They call it 'TinyE's Disease'.
My fingers and wrist, with a bit of frustration when playing One Finger Death Punch. Excellent game, but I find that I simply do not have the reflexes to play the game properly. At best, I can only manage 170% speed on student difficulty.

I bought a mousepad with a wrist rest. Hopefully that would make it less painful.

You're not the only one who has experienced pain playing that one. Did it with a controller and it hurt like hell after a while.

-laughs- More like early-onset arthritis here. Your idea would be more fun, getting what I describe as claw hand after playing games for a while gets old.

I spent some time in a medical facility with a lot of elderly. I remember one woman (must have been 75-85 but in bad shape) whose forearm muscles were hypertonic to the extent that she had no extension at all.

The therapist would come in every day and try to slid a thin cone between the thumb / fingers to try and create any gap at all. It's made me a bit paranoid. I've though of trying to design a therapeutic glove that could help, but then I don't hold any degrees in medical engineering.

But the basic idea would be some sort of tension to push/pull the fingers gently towards full extension while relaxing the muscles and connective tissue through the wrist and forearm. Maybe such a thing exists but I've never seen one.

Barring that, I mostly just try and make sure to spend 3-5 minutes every day doing some finger/hand exercises after all the time I spend with them curled at work, and playing games or music.

I play that using keyboard. I find I can just push down on the keys so much more easily.

As for health problems interfering with my gaming. I have a few aches and pains, my right index finger hurts after half an hour or so of mouse games. Yet it is my dogs need to pee every hour on the hour that really interrupts my gaming these days.
I have a minor strain injury in my hands, developed during my first job.
Can't play RTSs and RPGs with mouse controlled movement, for some reason those specifically triggers the pain quicker than other genres (it's weird), the other genres are mostly fine.
I guess it's the constant clicking? I don't know. :/

Do you wear grips or a splint for that? It seems to help mine when I'm doing that kind of thing.

As someone who foolishly did not sort the problem when I could of. Do it as soon as you can. The problem could generate into something much worse if you're not careful.

Mental health - apparently, I'm not (yet) insane enough to be able to comprehend and beat games like Woodruff and Discworld anytime this century.

Randalator: Is "work" a health problem?
What about childcare and wife?

It makes you play at night and eat up your sleep.
Persistent unending headaches, which pretty much interfere with everything not just gaming.
