pkk234: I think mentioning 'genre' is misdirecting a lot of people here. Like you mentioned, archetype is a much better descriptor.
But yea I think after consuming enough media you'll begin to see patterns. It happens to be that the ones you outlined are one of the common ones. Although I've never heard of the fat ugly one being a self insert of the author.

I see it a lot in anime and superhero media. Japanese mainstream anime is hella guilty of this, but if it sells well, it's what the general population wants.

It might help to tell us what game these are from.
None in particular. And I was being so nonspecific, since the discussion of them is as of the currnet time, quite verboten.

IwubCheeze: In other words, tropes. But why would Succubus make you think about that, especially when certain protagonist archetypes in games can be identical in other forms of media? A games genre has no bearing on the tropes used for characters
Oh, it's the matter that Succubus looks to be a blatantly adult game, so I was thinking a soft discussion could be had to thaw the notion.

Not quite. A trope is a recognizable pattern that you see across media and they are neither inherently good or bad. A cliche is when a trope has been overdone to the point of it having no meaning.

I can't think of a reason why people are even interested in degenerate trash like hentai games.
If you want porn, there's more than enough with real people in it.

Just looked up Succubus, and it looks like trash too.
This glorification of the demonic strikes me as infantile. I can only assume it's a reaction to Poland's official Catholic culture, like "edgy" teenagers growing up in a conservative culture adopting satanism to shock their elders.

Can't say much about archetypes and hair above eyes (I always thought it was vice versa, the eyes were in front of hair most of the time, a bit creepy if you ask me). I personally think that there is good anime and EVEN the good hentai, which I can't say about adult movies with OMG "real actors", yeah who needs anything real nowadays of pure fantasy and decadence. I see real people every day, I would rather watch some noble knight open some unsurprising mechanical chest in some action RPG game with good looking... ahem... companions with frigging plot and a taste of innuendo.

Hell, romantic... ahem... relationships were good in Mass Effect saga (well, 2 of them), why can't I have quality high budget game with them... ahem... chests, yes!
