Finally... Time to celebrate!!!
Good as much as I support Galaxy, the bundled installers were never a good idea. Now bring back the Galaxy banner on the homepage please.

thraxman: Just downloaded Heroes of Hammerwatch latest version and noticed that the option to chose your installer had gone, and apperars to be gone on all my other games as well. The installer for Heroes of Hammerwatch does not contain the Galaxy installation files so maybe they finally listened to the community and ditched the things.

Nicole28: Hey yeah, you are right! I took a quick look at my library (web version, not galaxy), and there is no longer any differentiation between "Galaxy Installers" and "Classic Installers". Everything is now simply just a single "Game downloads", and according to you, it seems that the Galaxy installer files are totally not included.
probably an early aprils fool joke of gog?

edit:

indeed the galaxy malware is finally away from my games, well thanks gog

so much time and resources wasted on a total sensess, useless and pain in the ass project so far! all that time and resources could be used for something usefull like fixing all the broken games, add finally some updates or ... well i dunno know maybe support putin? everything seems better then shoving that damn malware into my installers!

My guess is that we'll see new installers very soon that don't include Galaxy, but will have the option to download and install it. Would be fine for me as long as this option isn't the default setting..

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K... I mean GOG library. I hope it's for real, those installers never made any goddamn sense, but I'll refrain from celebrating untill we hear something about this. Untill we do it may be a bug or a sign of something even worse being in the works :P

gogs core values:

we don't update

we break things

and we make em worse!!!
I miss the good old days of wasting my bandwidth and time downloading some bloatware.

That is also a possibility, and if done right would be less of an issue.
This is indeed great news. Hopefully, things will stay this way and some new enforced feature will not take place.
It's difficult not to be suspicious about stuff GOG come up with these days. >.>

Edit: Damn it. "not to be", "to not to be", "to be not"? I'm confused, help!

Oh I really hope that GOG has finally come to their senses and that this isn't yet another bug or that they aren't devising a new way to sneak that bloatware on to our computers.

On a side note, it always worried me how GOG seems to apply changes directly to their live site instead of working on an internal version and only pushing out changes once they have been thoroughly tested.

"not to be" - grammatically correct
"to not be" - is used, but not quite correct
"to not to be" - totally wrong
"to be not" - has a different meaning, I think (not quite sure, maybe a native speaker can help)

If you are referring to the word "not" then it works, as in "the word you are looking for has to be not"

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous client, or to take arms against a Galaxy of troubles, and by opposing end them?

That's the only reason I got it right this time. ;)
