How about telling me about what the Galaxy client is trying to do, maybe even giving a bleep about what it failed or succeeded to do, including enabling me to have the ultimate shot at wheter or not I want iit to do whatever it feels like doing, instead of waiting for it to maybe or maybe not burp out a non-descriped message after the fact -- or not.

Provide a changelog. Provide access to that changelog _before_ I have the new version installed. Don't block when trying to phone home, just tell me, that you'd like to verry much update or check for a new version, and that you'll ask me before DL'ing -- and other than that, here's the URL for the changes introduced, if I just let you check.

Oh, and as an edit: I very much value the effort, and I do realize the amount of work involved. Nonetheless, to me the client is lacking in several aspects. And severely so :/

I'm all about how G keeps shut about what it's doing. So, G fails updating, I wait and maybe get some nondescript msg, then try again (or not). Again, no burp, no message, no hint, no nothing :/
