DCT: Okay maybe I am getting old here but it seems people are throwing around words to back up arguments in complete lack of understanding of their meanings as I am aware of them, now yes definitions change so can someone please explain to me how GOG is committing censorship by not selling the game?
Clearly you lack a beneficial algorithm of the decorum here. When entities extrapolating such as yourself cannot in turn ventriloquize correct said hypothesis, then it becomes incorporable for you to inebriate and habituate said conjunction.

Censor
To examine books, movies, letters, etc., in order to remove things that are considered to be offensive, immoral, harmful to society, etc.

A good dictionary almost always has a list of definitions to explain all meanings of a word, not just one. You chose the wrong one.

This may help from the ACLU...
https://www.aclu.org/what-censorship

For example, it is considered censorship for a museum to refuse to display a nude work of art because it is nude.
It is censorship, to both change content for the above or to ban content based on the above. For example, Walmart refusing to sell certain music without the lyrics changed to something less offensive. Or banning music from radio play because of its content.

The part where people are going overboard is the assumption that Hatred is not released here because of its violence or controversy. This part we do not know. They very well could have determined the game play and polish was just not good enough. Especially given how they do sell games such as Postal, Postal 2, Harvester, etc.

amok: so how come you did not do this rant when gOg rejected "Braid", or "Thomas was alone", or "Machines at War 3", or "Creeper World 3" or any of the other 1000nds games gOg have rejected?
I didn't know Braid got rejected or those other games, what the hell?! Why? Braid is good game!
I noticed problem with this game though, because I read an article about this.

But this rant isnt only about this thing, its whole CD Red getting worse and worse, this ban is just the last straw that made me write this.

Dominius: Me and my evil SJW overlords started to control which games will be released on GOG. Some games will drop out of the catalogue and will be replaced by variants of Depression Quest.
Wanna know why Braid wasn't allowed here? Because it features a damsel in distress.

GOG will be soon renamed into FOG. Feminist Overlord Games.

Have a nice day. (No, that game won't be released here neither.)
Yeah thats funny, but sad truth this stupid thinking is really influencing the game industry, check those stupid SJW and feminist headlines on Polygon and bashing publishers because thay didn't include playable female, or black character in their game.
And I didnt say someone controls whats released on GoG, its GoG's own fault to try to catter to this retarded vocal SJW audience and pissing everyone else along the way.

karnak1: Are you going to stop selling Postal 1 & 2 as well, GOG?
avatar
Potzato: What makes you think that game is as good as postal 1 or 2 ?
Well Postal 1 is just straight up awful.Everybody only remembers Postal 2 one of the few video games that is "so bad it's good".

Okay I concede that I used a poor definition of the term Censor/censorship in this case, and I agree people are going overboard with baseless assumptions but let's be honest here that is what the internet has become. Facts are no longer facts supported by evidence but rather just hearsay that has been said enough times that obviously it's true because no one wants to bother to look the claims up which is funny given that the internet is somewhere you can easily find that information if you just bother to look.

I agree. Yeah, the developer says GoG told them the game was "good". I find that to have the same weight as Kotaku claiming to investigate Kotaku and claiming their reporter did nothing wrong.

GoG isn't going to tell them their game is crap, even if they rejected it because the game didn't reach their standards.
We'll have a better idea what the truth is on the 29th when the game is released to those who pre-ordered on Steam. Will it be buggy? Poorly optimized? Will it lack any real objectives other than just killing people? The trailers really don't tell you very much about it at all and it doesn't appear anyone has actually reviewed it as a game yet. We just don't really know anything important about it as a game.

Yeah I have a feeling this game is nothing more then a bland generic shooter that got noticed because of the controversy surrounding it. I mean the devs have been seemingly going out of their way to embrace that and nothing else, no talk about what else the game brings to the table, what makes it a worth while game, nothing just your typical carney working the people. Which if history has taught me anything that they have really not much else to this game.

I'm in the wait and see camp about forming an opinion about Hatred as a game myself. It could be just a crappy FPS (in which case GoG was right to reject it). It could also be as brilliant as playing a murderer out of White Wolf's Slasher book.

We shall see.

Lost MAJOR respect for GOG.com and ALL affiliates.

Smart buys will from now on not be made here, well said. If I respect intellect, I will buy games elsewhere.

This company has made a choice, that has ensured I will never make another purchase, nor trust this company again. I will Never give more money to CDPR either, all purchases will go to Steam, not smart GOG, not smart AT ALL.

Furthermore, with over 100 titles purchased I feel ripped off and completely uncomfortable with the feeling of being TRAPPED with them in a company that doesn't respect me as an adult.
