Thanks for finally giving an in depth reply on the matter. I'm glad I'm not on Tumblr, Facebook, or Twatter. For me, its only the lonely desolation of Google Plus. (And deviantart.)

I hope GOG turns it down on the terms that this is basically a troll game, and not in the funny way or 'so terrible, its laughable', like Meme Run, but in the true sense of the term, just something to get a pull from people.

Congratulations to all the people trying to censor this game. It is back on Steam Greenlight. Lots of people who would have never have even looked at the game twice are now aware of the game. The publisher could not have bought better marketing. This game would have likely flopped on its own, now it has a good chance of being a commercial success.

I'm an atheist. My reasons for disliking this game are far more petty than 'morals' and 'ethics'. The idiotic social commentary and premise are just nitpicks atop the crap cake. As I mentioned eariler, my main beef with the game is that it looks vapid and shallow. Like a Hot Topic or Shadow the Edgehog, trying oh so hard to be edgy and shocking.

What we see in the trailer is pretty on par with most accounts of rogue killers in the past 15 years. With all the media coverage that these sickos get, you'd expect people to know about the patterns.

They like to gamble and they often lose. Try to censor, but if it doesn't work, it's just free shock marketing. Maybe this is proof that offended people are generally not too smart?

How the heck are you equating votes for Hatred and pro-Gamergate? You hate Gamergate and you hate Hatred, so anyone who disagrees with you must like both of the others?

Hatred has votes because it is controversial enough, most people have heard about it by now. There are better games without the recognition and they receive far fewer votes.

Personally, I think Hatred's inclusion in GoG's catalog should be based on the game's merits. Right now, we have a trailer. If the game ends up with the quality that deserves to be here, I hope GoG sells it here. And if its a piece of crap, I hope it doesn't.

This is hilarious. I would also like to see this on GoG.
Funny to see the Hatred devs respond to this as well :D
avatar
TullyFernado: Support for this game has little to do with the game itself, so yeah, questioning the legitimacy of those votes is entirely...legitimate.
Bashing this game at this point also has little to do with the game itself. But of course your rules apply only in one direction, don't they.

avatar
TullyFernado: Much the same way that gamergate itself has little to nothing to do with "ethics in gaming journalism," actually.
And SJW have little to nothing to do with actual social justice. Both sides are riddled with opportunists and people who just want some self-affirmation.

Is it even a real game? I thought it's just a spoof video advertizing a made-up game.

Yeah, and isn't it kinda funny that those hate promoting racist assholes at Destructive Creations show more respect for someone mocking their work in good taste than all those genuinely good SJW people for Destructive Creations?

It's almost as if they aren't the assholes their detractors want them to be.

That's great. I wanted to make the game, but I'm super lazy. Now I don't have to and the game still gets made.

Must we use that word again? Edgy. Everything is edgy now. A bowl of cornflakes is edgy. So goddamn realistic and gritty...I HATE CORNFLAKES, OH THE EDGE! Anyway, your point is moot if the game is fun. If this game is fun to play, the edgy developers have won. Somehow, I don't think they're taking the game as seriously as everyone else.
