Klumpen0815: Well, when a harmless (and boring) thing like this is banned, all violent games should be banned too (which would make the catalogue quite small). Oh I forgot... hypocrisy.
It's not completely harmless. As I said before in this thread: you do see genitals and IIRC a BDSM scene or two. I absolutely understand that it's a bit too extreme for both Steam and GOG.

And why do people keep saying that it's boring? It's relaxing. :P

XYCat: You're trying to defeat demons from hell in doom so they don't take over the earth unlike trying to kill civilians for no reason whatsoever. So there is no real comparison.

fronzelneekburm: Yes there is: It's just pixels!

In a video game, it doesm't matter whether you blast demons from hell or fluffy rabbits or people in a wheelchair. It doesn't make one jolt of difference. It's up to everyone to decide for himself, where they draw their line in the sand. You've drawn yours with this game. I drew mine with modern military shooters, which I consider to be not only asinine, warmongering warporn, but severely lack in actual gameplay as well. But I wouldn't run around calling for a ban of Modern Warfarce and their ilk either. I just shake my head in dismay and move on. I don't think games like this shouldn't be made, I think their audience should have a certain level of maturity to them.
So what about Tetris and Dragon Age Inqusition? Both are just pixels => Exactly the same thing.

As far as my point is concerned, basically yeah. Nobody's going to get their jimmies rustled because you made a bunch of blocks disappear in Tetris. Nobody can claim that they just lost their virginity because they stumbled into some embarrassing, cringe-worthily written BioWare romance subplot. So why get upset about video game violence, when it has no more consequence on the real world than playing Tetris?

But like I said, this boils down to personal ethics, everybody has to decide for themselves what is and isn't cool in their book.
I am absolutely no friend of censorship, but imho, when a bunch of neo-nazis direct a killing spree for 'entertainment', it at least leaves a foul taste...
To all people concerned about this game, ask the developer of this game to go greenlight as countermeasure, so you can sleep tonight.

Is there any actual proof that the devs are of neo-nazi belief, or is it just another rumor spread to make this even more controversial?

just a rumour, hell the guys wrote like 10 paragraphs to shut every kind of person that came with a dumb politic controversy thing

but I wouldn't really buy the game anyway, is literally grey, and I don't get anything to do in it's rather detailed world but to shoot at shit?, this looks ambitious for fucks sake!, but the way the game treats itself I don't know if it's oxymoronic or just plain moronic

Go to the site of the developers, go to team and google their names. I 'investigated' for about 10-15 minutes and at least found heavy evidence.
But don't just take for granted what I say, maybe I misinterpreted the signs, I encourage you to look for yourself and draw your own conclusions!

Tolerance works both ways. I see a lot of people condemning folks for an opinion when the other side of the argument is equally opinionated. Rights don't terminate where its convenient for your agenda. They also don't extend your entitlement so that others don't have any rights.

I'd say the game in question accomplished its mission very well. 41 pages of arguing (on just this forum, and just this one thread)... by people who have never played the game. You may all have your opinions on violence and free speech, but I have mine on marketing, and this company has successfully troll-baited an awful lot of people into free publicity :p

I claimed that the game is contentless crap because it's not even supposed to have any content other than killing random unarmed people for no reason, not because it had any real world consequence.

catpower1980: And once again, it shows gamer people (Americans in general) are more prone to accept violence rather than erotism. Would Gabe give Seduce Me a second chance?
That's because according to the bible, violence is okay(not murder but war and executing people because he or she made one mistake) but adultery is not. And many Americans believe in that stuff. And then there are the feminists who think such a game objectifies women. So if Gabe gave Seduce Me a second chance, the blow back would be insane but I still think he should give it a 2nd chance because censorship is wrong. My views towards erotic content is the same as most Europeans. So If I had it my way, there would late night porn commercials on TV in the USA. LOL

I've never met one single person, all my life, who is tolerant. There is no such thing as a tolerant person. Everyone who claims to be "tolerant" has hatred inside of them against some beliefs therefore hatred against some people. That's just normal and natural. And naturally, when you hate someone, you don't give a shit about their rights. Tolerance can only work both ways between like minded individuals.

I give a shit about rights of people that I hate. Rights exist precisely for this reason - to rise above personal squabbles and conflicts. I might bend those rights occasionally to some end or as an emotional response, sure, but when someone calls me out on doing so, I'm not going to say I don't give a shit about their rights, that would just hurt me in the end.

Ironically enough, tolerant people tend to be intolerant of intolerant people :-P Still, you should probably try to take a look at how you perceive human traits - there's no such thing as a tolerant person, sure, but there are people who are more tolerant than others, and there are people who are much more hateful than others.

That isn't even close to true. Tolerance is a trait. While some may not posses it (like grace, decency, kindness, etc.). Some people most certainly do have it. If no one did... we would not have a civilization safe enough to allow us the ability to indulge such a low need on the hierarchy scale as chatting on the internet. And tolerance isn't even needed between like minded individuals. Tolerance is accepting others that are NOT like yourself. Your statement doesn't make sense. I'm sorry you haven't met tolerant people.. I've met plenty and am a better person for the tolerance people show me.

perhaps better put... tolerance is a choice. Everyone is capable of it... some just choose to avoid it at the end of the day.

But if you care about the rights of people you hate, then do you truly hate them? Maybe you are incapable of hating others so you just dislike them?

Well... It's possible I've just never experienced true hatred, it's the sort of thing you never know unti you actually live trough it - caring about their rights does sound logical tho, from the completely selfish perspective that you don't want to give them ammunition to get easy vengeance on you
