monkeydelarge: There is no shelf... If Disney gets their panties in a bunch because a digital games store that sells Hatred also sells old PC games owned by Disney then that is just ridiculous. Disney stopped being a group that produces conservative only entertainment for thought police families some time ago. Disney also shouldn't expect a store like GOG to support censorship considering GOG sells Postal 2 and has moral principles. And those Star Wars games are very violent BTW. Half of them are Stormtrooper mass murder simulators. Disney would look retarded if they took a stand against Hatred. Oh, it's not disgusting when innocent people are killed with blaster rifles for wearing white shiny looking futuristic armor? What kind of BS is this?
Well, now you're just trolling, and may have been the whole time. Well played, sir.

Crsldmc: oh and lets hope they don't go for "realism" as no man no matter how badass he may look would take on the entire police department using regular clothes, long jacket and long black hair, so that would defeat the whole "realism" thing.
I qualify for realism as it could really happen... Not that it's exactly how it would play out.

Handguns? Real
Grenades? Real
Knifes & stabbing people? Real
People screaming in terror? Possible/Real
Execution via headshots? Real

In theory one person in street clothes CAN take out an entire police force... Although likely they would target them first via timed explosives when most of them are in the police station, then when they are out of the way taking out civilians until armed forces get word and begin arriving in as little as an hour.

Yeah it might be a power fantasy, more so because you know it's a game more than anything else.

Hmm makes me wonder if he was on LSD or something...

Like I already said, somewhere, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole myself. Same goes for Postal 1/2, although those don’t take themselves seriously. They’re sick, but parodical. From what I’ve seen, Hatred plays more like a simulator, and that’s just… wrong. Makes me wonder what they’ll come up with next. A suicide-bomber sim? A terrorist organization management sim? A concentration camp sim? The very thought of it makes me feel sick…

Bottom line, GOG is free to decide whether or not they want to sell it, and everybody is free to buy and play if they want to. I most definitely won’t.

I've seen short segments of Postal 2, which I might be willing to play to a degree.. I mean shooting a cat from your rocket launcher is so beyond realism that you can let it go and just have fun :P

I'm not saying GoG shouldn't carry it, like you I said I won't get or play it.

Guess there isn't much else to say...

urknighterrant: Things change. GOG just landed a HUGE contract with "Lucasfilm Classics". For those of us who prefer reading news to making it up, that's Disney.

It's not hard to see Disney having a problem having it's products on the same shelf as a game like Hatred.

Grow up. The presence of physical shelf not withstanding Disney gots the goods and Disney gots the gold. Disney is gonna get what it wants regardless of what you think of it's politics. GOG is running a business, not a charity for rebel devs.
low rated
Well the definition of the rebel dev is copyrighted by Zoe quinn already.... rebel for the establishment....
But i agree it´s up to GOG what they sell here. so the petition against the game is very inappropriate or just idiotic.. but hey you know ?!

Theory that's all, it depends on people's mental health, I'd like very much to try this one out, that doesn't make me a dangerous individual for my society.

Be as it may, it's a game, violence in games are not a big thing for me, I've been killing digital things since I can remember, my first games were Wolfenstein 3D and Doom 2 on my old man's 386, when I got to play Mario Bros I deemed it crap since I found it very silly and went back to killing demons and nazis on the PC.

I've been raised in a highly violent country, I've seen dead people just because the robbers wanted his shoes, I've been fired upon with a shotgun and a handgun both on different occasions and incredibly enough during my childhood, there's plenty of highly violent material on the internet for everyone to see, a game where you kill digital people is not a concern for me.

So one crazed individual using explosives to take on the very police force is something I'm yet to see, hope is not through my own eyes, I see violence every day down here, we are used to it. (and thats what worse)

Don't take me wrong please, just my opinion.
I just don't get what's so wrong with people. It's like everyone's overreating to the game. I must have killed millions of people between L4D2 (zombies/Infercted, WERE people before), and I didn't hear anything similar to this reaction. All this accomplishis (with me at least) is make me wanna try the game.
It's just that, a game. It's fantasy. Not real.

Selling Hatred wouldn't make any store, "a charity" unless the game is garbage and once again, you failed to see the big picture. There will be a lot of $$$ made from Hatred. And take your "GOG is running a business" card and toss into the trash, already. Things have become more complicated than that because Hatred has become more than just a game. Not everyone only cares about $$$, like you. Some people care about freedom and morals and important stuff like that. And unless you are a Star Wars fan boy, Disney isn't all that and a bag of chips. They bring a lot to the table but "Disney gots the goods and Disney gots the gold."? I don't think so. Yes, Disney could try to bully GOG into not selling Hatred because they do bring a lot to the table... And GOG might give in. But then it will be clear then that GOG only cares about $$$ like all the soulless corporations out there and on that day, I will be very shocked and disgusted because I thought wouldn't never take part in censorship for $$$. I'm sure on such day, you'd have a smile on your face, right? You stupid soulless bastard.

No. Things are not more complicated than that. You aren't responsible for keeping GOG's employee's housed, clothed, and fed. It's not your call. You don't even get a say.

Your freedom is hardly being impaired in the event GOG refuses to carry the game. In fact, the advent of digital distribution and the fact the devs are planning on selling it through their site means that it will be available for you to buy short of government censorship.

No shit, dumb ass. Of course it's not my call. But I do have a say. It's called freedom of speech. And as long as the actions of other people affect me because we are all stuck on the same planet, I will make use of this freedom. If we all had our own planets, then I'd be quiet as a cat hunting for food but we don't all have our own planets unfortunately. Unfortunately, I have to share this planet with a wretch like you.

If you think, being responsible for employees means you should support censorship, then you just don't get it. By your way of thinking, it's okay to sell sex slaves and illegal weapons because it keeps employee's housed, clothed and fed... And anyone who brings right or wrong into the picture is just childish or stupid, right? Who gives a fuck if Hatred is suppressed and this encourages more censorship to the point, that playing a violent video game will get you sent to prison, right? Who gives a fuck if our world becomes so polluted, that we have to purchase clean oxygen every day to survive, right? Who gives a fuck about our future because the only thing that matters is making the maximum amount of $$$ possible, right? FUCK YOU.

And FYI, to think those who work for GOG will cease being housed, clothed and fed if GOG sells Hatred is beyond retarded. GOG selling Hatred won't mean GOG going out of business. How dumb are you? You really think, everyone is going to boycott GOG if they start selling Hatred? HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAH Most people are the live and let live type so even if they find Hatred disgusting, they won't boycott a store they like just because that store started selling Hatred. They just won't buy the game. A lot of GOGers think Postal 2 is a disgusting game but because they are nice people who don't see themselves as the thought police, they still continue to support GOG.

Bullshit. Of course my freedom will be impaired. Not right away but later down the road. If you can't see that, then I feel sorry for you.

I like the bit where the very principle of freedom is endangered by GOG refusing a game.
