GOG's not exactly short of games to release at the moment. I'm pretty sure that an average twin stick shooter that tries to be as nasty as it can be and fails even at that isn't really going to be top priority right now.

From what I've seen it's a game that's missing the whole 'game' part. More or less comparible to those shitty mobile games were you just have to 'click' stuff every now and again out of some failed pretense of interactivity and user involvement.

It's for that reason that it shouldn't be here. There are some bad games on GOG. But at least they do definitely qualify as games, not brainless shovelware.

That said, nice environmental destruction though. Could really do with that in something better.

So Hatred is a lot like Postal: A medicore to crappy game that tries to get by by being daring ,edgy,and over the top violent Not surprised given how much the marketing is stressing the "look at how outrageous we are" factor.

The GTA games did not use that approach because they had something to sell other the "Boy look at how violent wwe are" :Good Gameplay.

Well GTA does a lot more, for the good I mean, and yes that's an ambiguous term. :P Just from a purely technical standpoint (omitting all the violence issues) just pop in any GTA after #2 and walk your character around. The city is alive, different neighborhoods actually look and feel different, NPCs actually have individual characteristics. There are times in GTA when you gun, some when you run, some when you schmooze, some both. I love the Postal games and would probably enjoy Hatred but even the proponents of that game admit it doesn't have any of that stuff; just you and a bunch of targets.

We do deserve to at least know the reason why it wasn't carried. Quite franky until they do I think GOG should be slapped with a reputation of being arbitrary, and devs, especially ones handling extreme violence, should be wary of signing up.

GOG could not distribute Hatred because they don't have the technical means for selective distribution to different countries. A ban in one of their target countries would possibly have meant that they would have to remove the entire game, infringing on the players who already bought it. Far too high a risk.

Right now, Hatred is number #848 in the Steam charts, ever steadily going downwards. In two weeks, the entire world has forgotten about the game. So there's no reason for GOG to still pick it up, period.
